COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR. MEETING

AUGUST 6, 1957
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6171.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance levying
special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain
lots and parts of lots, and the parkways abutting thereon in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Jaeger, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6172.
Plans filed for Salina Municipal Airport Improvements.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept, and bids be received August 27, 1957.Carried.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
Paving Franklin from Hancock to i,.errill with two-inch asphalt hot mix.
• Curb and gutter on South Clark Street from the South line of Spruce to the South
line of Lot 8 Block 5 and South line of Lot 8 Block 6 in Walnut Grove Addition to the
City of Salina, Kansas.
Petitions for curb, gutter and paving with Hot Mix Asphalt; also sewers, water
mains and sidewalks in Country Club Heights Addition No. 3.
City Engineer filed the following Estimates:
Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $25,485.07 to McCollum Construction Company for
sewer construction (Job 358).
Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried.
Partial Estimate in the amount of $8,996.12 to Wilmoth Construction Company for
sidewalk construction.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate Number 1 in the amount of Tt,61,578.
to M. W. Watson, Contractor, for Airport Improvements.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Carried.
Al Webb asked for permission to erect an Asphalt Plant on a tract of land near
Ohio and North, owned by the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company.
Commissioner Wenger moved that request be denied. Carried.

ing walls and fences.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 6th, 1957• Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger,
McCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 30th, 1957 and Meeting of Board of
Zoning Appeals of July 30, 1957 were read and approved as read.
Letter received from City Planning and Zoning Commission recommending that Pe-
tition Numbe 1909 submitted by M. L. Michaelsen, for the rezoning of certain property
bounded on the East by the National Reserve Armory, on the West by Missouri Pacific
Railroad Tracks, and on the South by Cloud Street, from Zone "A" to Zone "G" be denied.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to hold Joint Meeting with City Planning and Zoning
Commission. Carried.

City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Number 364.
Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried.

Meeting of Board. of Zoning Appeals, August 6th, 1957• Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger, McCune,
Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Application for Building Permit to erect a building on Lot 10, North Eighth
Street, Original Town of Salina, Kansas. (318 North Eighth Street) was presented from
Ed French.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to approve and City Clerk publish Notice
held, Tuesday, August 13th, 1957 at four o'clock P. M. Carried.
Protest presented granting of any permit to Dillon Investment Company, Inc., or
J. S. Dillon & Sons, for use as a parking area Lot 7, Block 1, Pleasant View Addition,
which premises are known as 315 West Kirwin Avenue.
Commissioner Ramsey moved permit
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned. —
