Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exli.ne, Jaeger and McCune and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners Ramsey and Wenger absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 11th, 1957 and June 18th, 1957 were read and approved as read. Commissioner McCune moved to approve bid of Stern Brothers and Company for the sale of $300,000.00 Sewer Bonds, (Series S-175), as lowest interest cost to the City and return other checks. Carried. Commissioner McCune moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading pro- viding for the issuance of $300,000.00 Sewer Bonds (Series S-175). On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Ramsey and Wenger absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance condemning an easement in certain land within Saline County, Kansas,for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in constructing, extending, installing and maintaining a certain sanitary sewer fore main across Tracts Seven (7 ) and Eight (8) of the Sub -Division of the Thos. White Farm lo- cated in Section Seven (7) Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Saline County, Kansas, and providing for the payment thereof." Commissioner McCune moved to put on agenda for next meeting. Commissioner McCune moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for the curbing, guttering and hot mix paving of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas. (Job 361) Ordinance passed: — Number: (p Commissioner Jaege moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading levy- ing special assessments against cer tain property to pay the cost of constructing certain sewer and water service pipes and connections in certain streets in the City • of Salina, Kansas. Agreement for Engineering Services with Burgwin and Martin, Consulting Engineers of Topeka, Kansas, for the purpose of making a complete Traffic and Street Needs Study, was presented. Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Carried. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from Richard Klema, d/b/a °Klema.'s IGA Foodliner" 605 East Crawford. Avenue. Commissioner McCune moved that application be approved and license granted. Carried. Application for permission to transfer Cereal Malt Beverage License Number 2913 from 138 North Santa Fe Avenue (DeLuxe Smoker) to 115 South Santa Fe Avenue (Club Royal) was presented from Teddy R. Pierson. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. Petition presented from Clifford L. Vogan to grant him the right to own and • operate an airplane or airplanes and locate same on the Municipal Airport in the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner McCune moved to refer to Airport Committee. Carried. Paving of Recreation Area in Oakdale Park. Commissioner McCune moved to approve and receive bids July 9th, 1957. Carried. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager: Curb and gutter East side of Lewis from Beloit to Minneapolis. Sewer to serve Blocks 3 and 4 in Riker Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. Sidewalks on east and west side of Gebhart Street between Charlotte and Leslie. Paving with two-inch Hot Mix Windsor Drive in Sunset Village Addition. Commissioner McCune moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for construction of curb sidewalks on certain streets in Salina, Kansas. Ordinance passed: w ( r Number D. N.
