An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company for the
construction of cer tain sidewalks in the City o Jalina, Kansas, heretofore desig-
nated as Engineering Job Number 3623 and providing for the issuance of temporary
notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent.

Recommending that Petition No. 1821 submitted by Paul G. Lindholm for closing
east and west alley between Eleventh and Twelfth Streets and between the 200 and 300
Blocks, be approved; provided, however, that the alley's closing shall be subject
to any existing utility easements.
Commissioner McCune moved to accept and ordinance introduced for first

termining necessity of and directing that the owner or owners of certain lots
construct, in compliance with plans and specifications of the City Engineer, a
sidewalk abutting said lots within 30 days of the adoption and publication hereof
and providing that in the event the owner or owners fail to do so, that the City o
Dalin; shall proceed to construct or cause tobe constructed said sidewalk and that
the tot.l cost thereof shall be assessed against such lot or lots on which such
sidewalk shall abut as other special assessments."

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, June 11th, 1957• Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Exl.ine, the roll was called and Commissioners �cl.ine, Jaeger,
McCune and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Wenger absent.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by L. C. Helbert, regarding Side Yard
Requirements on Prescott Avenue, for the East 155 feet of Lots 14, 15 16 and East
155 feet of South 25 feet of Lot 13, on South Eighth Street, Beebe's Addition to
Salina, Kansas.
Protest Petition filed.
Commissioner McCune moved that Building Application be denied. Carried.
Application for Building Permit to erect a building on the East 62 feet
6 inches of Lots 15 and 16, Block 3, Southern Heights Addition was presented from
A.A. Riker. (Building to front on West Crawford Avenue)
Commissioner moved that application be denied. Carried.
