Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Jaeger, McCune and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Co mmissioner Wenger absen . The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 28th, 1957 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of certain sidewalks, (Job 362) as follows: 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company $20,620.60 Oscar M.Wilbur $21,162.61 Saum Brothers $213907.50 L. W. Rexroad $26,859.98 Wilson Constructors $28,650.55 • Engineer's Estimate $22,998.95 Commissioner vamsey moved that contract be awarded to Wilmoth Construction Company as per bid submitted in the sum of $20,620.60; and checks returned to un- successful bidders. Carried. ' Sidewalk Contract Ordinance introduced for first reading. - Ordinance- Passed �J % Number Z, /j7: An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contract with 0. D. Wilmoth, doing business as Wilmoth Con- struction Company, for the construction of an Intercepting Sewer and Pumping Station and lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Intercepting Sewer Country Club District and Lateral Sanitary Sewers Districts 361 and 362 and pumping station, and providing for ',he issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of Bonds." On motion of Commissioner McCune the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6150. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled "An ordinance for the vacation of a north and south alley within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger] McCune and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Curb and gutter and storm sewer on a portion of Highland Avenue in Gebhart Manor Addition to the City of Salina, K ansas, in front of Lots 11 to 17, inclusive, in HLock 1, and Lots 1 to 7 inclusive in HLock 3. Paving Indiana Avenue from Gypsum Avenue to Stapler Avenue. Paving Lewis from Russell to East Cloud Street. Petition presented for the rezoning of Tract 1 in Surveyor's Plat from "D" to "F"; also balance of Tract from "A" to "F". Referred to City Planning Commission by Commissioner Ramsey. The following Engineering Estimates were filed: Number 2 in the amount of $14,931.63 to Brown and Brown, Inc., for Street Improvements. Job 357• Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. Number 1 in the amount of $18,852.70 to McCollum Construction Companyfor Gebhart-Planor Storm Sewer. (Job 356) Approved b Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. Number 4._ in the amount of $5,519.00 to Jarvis Construction Company for Iron Avenue Bridge. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. Plumber 3 in the amount of 11,648.57 to Wilson ConstructionCompany,for Water Supply Wells No. 15 and 16. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. Number 6 (Final) in the amount of 42,539.85 to Hydraulic Drilling Company, for Water Supply Exploration. Approved by Commissioner McCune. Carried. Trust Deed, with a deposit of x'100.00 presented from Mrs. Gertrude B. Winter- botham, for perpetual care of Lot 31, Block 12 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, • Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution finding that it is necessary to condemn an easement in certain property for the purpose of con- structing, extending, installing and maintaining a certain sanitary sewer force main across Tracts Seven (7) and Eight (8) of the Subaivision of the Thos. White Farm, located in Section Seven (7) Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Saline County, Kansas,end directing the City Engineer to file a survey and description of the land so required." On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Jaeger, McCune and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Payor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1849. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 278 Resolution Book 6. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for the sale of $300,000.00 General Improvement Bonds, Series S-175 of the City of Salina, Kansas, to be received up to and including, Tuesday, June 18th, 1957 at four o'clock P.
