MAY 28, 1957 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 28, 1957• Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Conulssioners Exline, McCune and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners Jaeger and Wenger absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 21, 1957 and Meeting of Zoning Board of Appeals of May 21, 1957 were read and approved. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for Salina Municipal Airport improvements. Opened and tabulated by Wilson Engineering Company. Tabulated report and recommendations to be reported 'at,meeting of June 11th , 1957. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for con- struction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 361 and 362; Country Club Intercepting Sewer and Pumping Station (Job 359), as follows: Wilmoth Construction CompazW, Salina, Kansas $24,196.25 McCollum Construction Company, Salina, Kansas $243376.00 Rhoades Construction Company, Newton, Kansas. $28,595.00 Development Inc., Wichita, Kansas $24,587.50 Engineer's Estimate $26,967.50 Commissioner Ramsey moved that contract be awarded to Wilmoth Construction Com- pany, as per bid submitted in the amount of $2 il96.25, and checks returned to unsuc- cessful bidders. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 1887 filed by Salina Supply Company, for the closing of that part of the alley between North Santa Fe Avenue and North Fifth Street from Elm Street, north, for the distance be- tween Lots 41, 43, 45 and 47 on Santa Fe Avenue and Lots 42, 44, 46 and 48 on Fifth Street, be granted. Commissioner McCune moved to accept and that ordinance be introduced for first reading. Carried. For paving Sherman from Crawford to Franklin. Pipe Line Agreement entered into between the, City of Salina and the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, to cross their tracks in the S. E. 1/4 of Section 12, Town- ship 145, Range 3 West, Saline County, Kansas, for the construction of a sanitary sewer. A resolution was introduced and passed authoring Mayor to sign above agreement. On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was -had; Ayes: Exline, McCune and Ramsey (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Jaeger and Wenger absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1845• The above resolution is recorded in full on Page. -274 Resolution Book Number 6. On motion of Commissioner McCune the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following.vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune and Ramsey (3) Nays:- (0) Commissioners Jaeger and Wenger absent. On motion of Commissioner McCune the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk *************** A resolution was introduced and passed directing that detailed estimate for enlarging and improving the system of works, for the treatment and disposal of the sewage of the City of Salina, shall be made under oath by Murray A. Wilsan a competent engineer, and providing for the submission thereof by said engineer all preliminary to the issuance and sale of bonds of said city as heretofore duly aixt authorized by the qualified electors of said city.
