04-16-1957 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 16, 1957 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 16, 1957. Meeting was called to order by 1tiiayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, 11CCune, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Jaeger absent. The minutes of the Regular fleeting of April 9th, 1957 were read and approved as read. City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 357, 358, 359 and 360 and Pumping Station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 357, 358, 359 and 360 and exten- sions thereof into the existing sewer located at the intersections of Highland Avenue and Wayne Avenue., also Main Saanitary Sewer "AE". (Job 358. ) Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve and City Clerk instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including, Tuesday, April 23rd, 1957 at four o'clock P. IVI. Carried. The matter of angle parking on Claflin Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Fourth Street was taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Ramsey moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading. Ordinance passed: ,� Number �J Country Club Sewer. Agenda for April 23, 1957. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An o dinance creat- ing and defining a ce tain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 361 and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 361 so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against t e property in said district for the payment for the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the o•dinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6136. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance for the vacation of an East and West Alley within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas -.11 On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6137. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Steahlin Avenue with concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the north side of Crawford Avenue to the south line of Haven Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1815. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 213 Resolution Book 6. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and paving and grading of Cloud Street with concrete, thirty-seven (37) feet wide back of curb to back of curb, from the west line of Fourth Street north of Clou Street to the east side of Quincy Street north of Cloud Street." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1816. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 244 Resolution Book 6. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition No. 1870, for the annexation into the City limits of Salina, Kansas, Lots 9 through 25 Block l; all of Blocks 2, 3 and 4- Lots 6 through 17 in Block 6, and Lots 2 through 13, Block 7, in Ingermanson Heights Addition of alina, Kansas be approved. Redding,for perpetual care of the North 1/2 of South 1/2 of Lot 42, Block 29 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from "Moose Club" 430 South Broadway, Salina, Kansas. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager: For sidewalk on south side of Jewell; East side of Roach; North side of Kirwin and west side of Lewis, all in Block 1, Bailey Heights Addition. For sidewalk on North side of Jewell; West side of Ohio; South side of Ellsworth and East side of Lewis, all in Block 21, Claflin's Addition. For sidewalk on South side of Jewell; East side of Lewis; North side of Kirwin and West side of Ohio, Block 2, Bailey Heights Addition. • I I For sidewalk on North side of Jewe4 ; West side of Lewis; South side of and East side of Roach; Block 1, Claflin Addition. Curb and gutter Anderson Street from Fourth Street, east to ditch. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an ap- propriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, McCune, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent.
