Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exiine, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Lake absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 5, 1957 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of Gebhart-Manor Storm Sewer (Job 356) as follows: C. N. McCollum Construction Company $31,796.00 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company $37,132.50 Engineer's Lstimate $37,368.00 • Commissioner Exline moved to award contract to C. N. McCollum Construction Company, as per bid submitted in the amount of $31,796.00; and return check to un- successful bidder. Carried. Contract ordinance for Gebhart-Manor Storm Sewer introducedfor first reading. Ordinance passed: 1� <t�—�--, 7 Number:�� Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for Paul G. Allen, d/b/a "Allen Steak House" 326 South Broadway, Salina, Kansas, was again taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Wenger moved that application be approved and license granted. Carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Manor Road from the east line of Roach Street to the west line of Ohio Street." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Hawkes, Lxline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1802. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 229 Resolution Book 6. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbirg, guttering paving and grading of Fourth Street , thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix • over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south line of South Street to the north line of Center Street. On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exlis, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1803. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 230 Resolution Boob 6. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance levy- ing special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain sewer and water service pipes and connections in ce tain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas . " On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Commissioner Wenger moved that a resolution be introduced for first reading for the curbing, guttering and paving Kansas Avenue from Ash Street to Johnstown Avenue. Carried. City limits. Agenda for March 19, A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing the construction and maintenance of an overpass over an alley." On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Lake absent. Co mmissioner Exline moved that bids be received for Airport Improvements, April 2nd, 1957 at four o'clock P. M. Carried. Application presented for the widening of the North side of Carl Avenue from Roach Avenue to the South-east corner of Lot 6, Block 6, Southview Addition for a distance of three feet to the north of said street. Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition presented for rezoning Lots 145, 117 and 149 on Fourth Street, Town of Salina, to District "F" Light Industrial. Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Carrie Petition presented for rezoning 300 feet along South Broadway immediately North of Holiday Inn Hotel to District "D", for an automobile sales lot. Commissioner Ramsey moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition presented for paving Stapler Avenue from Connecticut Avenue to Dela- ware Avenue. Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Manager. Carried. Petition presented for vacating alley bordering Lots 12, Stack Addition. Commissioner Wenger moved to refer to City Planning Comm Gas Fitter's Bond presented from Rhea Construction Company. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey.
