Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorneyy �onded. G�61—f- The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 19, 1957 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received for the sale of Airport Bonds in the amount of $375,000.00, (Series A-174) ten years, as follows: Stern Bros. & Company, Kansas City, Missouri. Barret, Fitch, North & Company, Kansas City, Missouri. First Securities Company, Wichita, Kansas City National Bank & Trust Company, Kansas City, Missouri. Ranson & Company, Inc., Wichita, Kansas. Commissioner Ramsey moved to award bid to Stern Brothers & Company, Kansas City, Missouri, as lowest interest cost to City and return checks to unsuccessful bidders. Motion adopted. Bond Ordinance introduced for first reading. Ordinance passed . Commissioner Wenger moved to award bid to Barret, Fitch, North and Company, Kansas City, Missouri, as lowest interest cost to City and return checks to unsucces- ful bidders. Motion adopted. Ordinance passed tv !��j j Number City Manager reported on the following petition: 1846 Curb and gutter Manor Road from Roach to Ohio. 81% Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and refer to City Engineer for description for resolution. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the construction of a certain storm sewer and drainage in the City of Salina, Kansas, to be designated as Gebhart Manor Storm Sewer, and providing for the letting of contract for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6122. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid - ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and providing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (.5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6123. Commissioner Exline moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading pro- viding for the curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, with two-inch Hot rli.x Asphalt. Ordinance passed Number "Y C] 1 • r 1 U 1 1 0 LJ Agreement entered into between Kenneth H. Baker and City of Salina, Kansas, for operation of Miniature Steam Train in Oakdale Park, City of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1957. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Wenger referred to City Manage-: Paving Sunrise Lrive from Wilson Street to Morningside Drive. Paving Windsor Avenue in Sunset Village Addition. Paving Kansas Avenue from Ash Street to Johnstown Avenue. The following petition was presented and on motion of Commissioner Wenger re- ferred to City Planning Commission: For closing of the alley from Highland Avenue to the east line of North and south alley between Republic Avenue and Beloit Avenue. • A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to the issuance of Temporary Note in the amount of $25,000.00. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Ex - line, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1800. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 227 Resolution Book 6. Wilson and Company.. Engineers, submitted Flood Control Protection Report. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. Commissioner Wenger moved to support the twenty-nine (29) grocers in their effort for Sunday Closing. Carried. Commissioner Lake moved to approve Swift and Company request and resolution be drawn up.
