DECEMBER 11, 1956
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 11, 1956. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Fawkes, the roll was called and Co mmissioners flawkes, Exline,
Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Bafta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 4, 195 and Meeting of Board of
Zoning Appeals of December 4, 1956 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the construction of a certain storm sewer and drainage in the City o Salina,
Kansas, to be designated as Ingermanson Storm Sewer, and providing for the letting of
contract for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Na} -s: (0) Mayor approved the o dinance
and it is Numbered 6112.
-'roposed Change Or,er No. 1 for Fire Station No. 2, Salina, Kansas:, presented
from Jarvis Construction Company, concerning a revised elevation in the concrete side-
walk at the South-east corner of the site. Total Additional Cost $115.00
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Petition presented for the rezoning of Lot 3 and West 40 feet of Lot 5, Block 2,
College View Addition , Salina, Kansas, from Zone "B" to Zone "C".
Petition referred to City Planning Commission.
Concrete- Construction Bond presented from John R. Hill and crank A. Hill, d/b/a
Hill Brothers.
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Applications for thirty-foot driveways between North Broadway and Woodland
and between Twelfth and North Broadway on Woodland, presented from Weber's Drive -In
at Eleventh and Broadway.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Merle Ashton appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding an unloading
zone at his store 901 West Crawford Avenue, Salim , Kansas.
Referred to Traffic Department.
Mayor appointed tre following to serve as wembers of Airport Advisory Committee:
George Curtis
George Johnson
Elliott Belden
Ed Wenger
Ralph Exline
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and approve the Commissioners for one year
term from April to April. Civilians for one, two and three year terms, they, to decide
which namet will be for the different years v :e Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, December 11th, 1956. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline,
Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice of Oscar A. Wenthe, for the erection of a
one -family dwelling on South 46 feet Lots 56-58, Elm Street, Weaver's Addition.
No protests.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
the authorization of non-compliance with the Lot Area Requirement for the South 46 feet
Lots 56-58, Elm Street, to the City of Salina,Saline County, Kansas."
• On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Ex -
line, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: `0) itiayor approved the resolution and it
is Numbered 1778.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 201 Resolution Book 6.
On motion of Commissioner Exline the Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
