Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular -Meeting of October 16th, 1956, were read and approved as read. Commissioner Wenger moved that an ordinance be introduced for first read- ing relating to no parking on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas. Ordinance passed on (�Ei n—L � , / M; Number An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District dumber 352, and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral sani- tary Sewer District Number 352, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for tine levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: l0) lviayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6099. On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6100. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Lewis Avenue , twenty-eight ,28) feet wide, toe of gutter to toe gutter w_th two (21) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the south side of Claflin Avenue to the south side of Russell Avenue." On motion of Commissioner titie.ger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: rawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger Nays: w) Mayor appro ed the resolution and it is Numbered 1763. The above resolution is recorded on Page 176, Resolution Book Number 6. A resolution was introdu_:ed for second reading entitled: "An Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of beloit from the center line of Lewis Avenue to the center line of RoachStreet; and the paving and grading of Beloit Lvenue twenty-eight (28) feet wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter with two (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Roach Street to the east line of Lewis Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption t e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) 10ayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1764. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk advertise for bids to be received October 30th, 1956 at four o'clock P. M. Carried. Discussion was held regarding Solicitors and Canvassers ordinance. Commissioner Lake moved to table indefinitely. Carried. �Ibod Control Project Plans and Specifications were filed by the City Engineer in compliance with Resolution Number 1747 and G. S. 1949 12-636. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution approving City Engineer's Report , filed with the City Clerk of Salina, Kansas, regarding Flood Pro- tection for the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Fenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption tie roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Ex - line, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays (0) mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1766. Application for Flood control Project Plans and Specifications to State Cor- poration Commission. Accept by Commissioner Wenger. Carried. Petition was presented from Parkview Realty and Building Company, Inc., for the vacation of part of streets, easements and all other types of ded-cations con- tained in Welling Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. Referred to the City Engineer. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Engineer: Concrete paving and gutter on Eleventh Street from El venth to Broadway. For 2 -inch hot mix asphalt on Lewis from 14i.nneapolis Avenue to Ellsworth Avenue. Wilson & Company, Er:gineers, submitted Plans for Test Wells. Plans for Test Wells under Wilson Engineering Company supervision, contract to be let October 30, 1956 at four o'clock P. M. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk BOARD'OF ZONING APPEALS PROCEEDINGS COMIuIISSI014ERS ROOM, SAUNA, KANSAS OCTOBER 23, 1956 Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals October 23, 1956. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Elmer 14 Schmidtberger, asking for permission to operate a Trailer Court at the rear of the new existing Log Cabin Motel and Midwest Mobile Trailers Homes, located at 420 North Broadway, Salina, Kansas. No protests. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to authorization of use of certain lots as a Tourist Courts and Cabins within the City, under Section 13, Ordinance Number 5549." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is Numbered 1765.
