Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler;CBnY i9 q ist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 26, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on Job 438 - Millview Addition - as follows: Brown & Brown, Inc. $48,187.00 Construction Industries $52,233.00 Engineers Estimate $52,771.50 On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was awarded to Brown & Brown, Inc. Carried, On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the contract ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried. • Ordinance Passed:_ L 6 C ip Number{ A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Stack Avenue with concrete (Twenty- two (22) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Indiana Avenue to the west line of Wisconsin Avenue, the same being an intervening connecting street," 1 L_J 1 • On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution was approved as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2735. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading Autust 26, 1963. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance defining the ward and precincts of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing sections 29-101 to 29-134, inclusive, of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, and ordinance number 6595, which amended said original sections." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6735. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading August 26, 1963. Twenty days up on rezoning of Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, Block 9 Replat of Faith Addition. to District "DD" - Office Building Use. No protests written or oral were filed. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the rezoning ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried, Ordinance Passed: �L 3�- Number �' 7 3 ) Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding Petition number 2708 for the rezoning of Lots 16 and 17, Block 7 Oakdale Addition to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was accepted with the recommendation that the property be rezoned to District "C". Carried. Petition number 2703 was checked for paving of the east side of Fourth from Ellsworth to Minneapolis. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was was approved for resolution. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Cereal Malt Beverage License for William Steenwyk was approved for transfer from Jimmies Canteen 121 E. Walnut to 122 N. Santa Fe - GiGis Lounge. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Cereal Malt Beverage License for M. L. Parish was approved for transfer from Peacock Lounge, 624 Reynolds to Jimmies' Canteen 121 E. Walnut. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Cereal Malt Beverage License for James R. Merrill was approved for transfer from Broadway Buffett 671 S. Broadway to Peacock Lounge 624 Reynolds, Carried, City Engineer filed partial estimate number 2 on Job 441 - Brown & Brown in the amount of $12,398,62. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved, Carried, City Engineer filed partial estimate number 1 on Street Job 435 - Brown & Brown in the amount of $67,877,69. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved, Carried, City Engineer filed partial estimate number 5 on Job 428 Streets - Brown & Brown in the amount of $10,851.26. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved. Carried. Concrete Construction Bond was filed by William Kier. On motion of Commission Bull, seconded by Commissioner Runquist the bond was approved. Carried. Petition number 2209 was filed for the rezoning of N. 10' S. 65' Lot 9, Block 1 Riker Addition from District "A" to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a contract between Harold M. Baker & the City of Salina was approved for the synchronization of signal lights. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a contract ordinance was introduced for first reading f r.a contract with the State Highway Commission. Carried,�'-- An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1186. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
