Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 26, 1963. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline,
Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 19, 1963 were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City
and prescribing the proper uses thereof,"
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6734, Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading 8-19-63.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull a res6lution was
introduced for first reading for the curbing, guttering & paving with concrete Stack •
from Indiana to Wisconsin. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was
introduced for first reading amending election preceints. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the report from the
Traffic & Parking Control regarding proposed opening in Belmont Avenue was accepted.
Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the report from
the Traffic & Parking Conttol regarding No Parking on North 9th from Pacific to Euclid.
was accepted, Carried,
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the City Clerk
was instructed to advertise for bids on September 9, 1963 for Job 438 - Millview Addition.
Carried.
Petition number 2707 was filed for street lights on Upper Mill Drive. On motion of
Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the
City Manager. Carried.
Petition number 2708 was filed for rezoning of Lot 16, 17 Block 7 Oakdale Addition to
Zone "DD" - Office Building. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exli e
the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 4 for Water Treatment Plant - Clem Less Inc., in •
the amount of $48,216.34. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline
the estimate was approved. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Rundquist the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

***** A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "The Board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina Kansas, that G. E. Spangler, said City's Mayor be and he is hereby duly
authorized and fully empowered to enter into and execute for and in the name of the City
one certain written agreement dated June 7, 1963 between said City and Missouri Pacific
Railroad Company, respecting the grant by said Railroad and acceptance by the City of
permission to install, keep and use 12" Cast Iron Water Pipe."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spanger, Bull, Exline, Rundquist
and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2733. Carried.
