08-05-1963 Minutes• 1 1 • C� 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas August 5, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 5, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and Assistant City Attorney Raymond Haggart./ City Attorney Bengtson absent, responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 29, 1963 and the Special Meeting August 2, 1963 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other purposes by the City of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1964." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6733. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading 8-2-63. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number 2699 for rezoning of Lots 4, 5, 6 & 7, Block 9 Replat of Faith Addition from District to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the recommendat were accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for hearing. Carried. Cereal Malt Beverage Application was filed by Floyd H. Grisson d/b/a Ebony Club, 437 N. 3rd. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the application was approved, Carried, On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the dedicatory deed from the Seitz family for land in Country Club Heights Addition No. 3 was accepted, Carried, Engineers Estimate was filed on Job 432 - Water Pipe Line - Construction Industries in the amount of $10,238,31. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 4 on Street Job 428 - Brown & Brown - in the amount of $60,952,59. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the estimate was approved. Carried, City Engineer filed estimate number 1 on Asphalt Resurfacing Job 441 - Brown & Brown in the amount of $54,236.25. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Mayor was authorized to sign the water distribution analysis proposal from Bucher & Willis. Carried. Twenty days up on Resolution Number 2727 - Millview Addition Improvements. No protests were filed written or oral. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1182, Carried, An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims," On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner ExIine the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following%was had; Ayes Spangler, Bull, Exline, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1183. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
