Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 29, 1963. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Rundquist
and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioners Eicline and Tucker absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 22, 1963 were read and approved.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to
the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Eleventh Street with concrete (Thirty-three
(33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the north line of Hamilton to the
south line of Antrim."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull and Rundquist (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is
Numbered p2. 730. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading 7-22-63.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to

(33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Third Street to
the west line of Front Street."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull and Rundquist (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it
is Numbered 2731. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading 7-22-63.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to

the east line of Third Street."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was

Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it
is Numbered 2732. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading 7-22-63.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance changing the
names of various streets located within the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler,
Bull and Rundquist (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved
the ordihatide- and it is Numbered 6730. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading
7-22-63.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas.'
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was •
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler,
Bull and Rundquist (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6731. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading
7-22-63.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance levying j
special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain
lots and parts of lots and the parkways abutting thereon in the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler,
Bull and Rundquist (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6732. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading
7-22-63.
City Engineer filed final estimate on sidewalk Job 437 - 0. M. Wilbur in the amount
of $778.01.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 3 on Water Treatment Plant Addition - Clem Less
Inc. in the amount of $23,559.47.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried. •

Application was filed for three driveways at Crawford & Phillips - APCO Oil Corp.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the application
was referred back to the Engineer. Carried.
Petition number 2703 was filed for the concrete paving of the east side of fourth
street from Minneapolis to Ellsowrth.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition
was referred to the City Manager. Carried.
Gas Fitters Bond was filed by William Franklin. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist
seconded by Commissioner Bull the bond was approved. Carried.
Gas Fitters Bond was filed by Duane Logback. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist
seconded by Commissioner Bull the bond was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications on Job 438 - Millview Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the plans and
specifications were approved, Carried,

pool hall licenses were approved, Carried,

Petition number 2704 was filed for the installation of a street light on
Kensington Road between Quincy & Belmont.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition
was referred to the City Manger. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the Mayor was
authorized to sign the transfer agreement with FAA on the generator for the Airport.
Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
