A PRIL 12, 2012
Members Present: Tony Blair, Lucila Corley, Gary Cummings, Joel Wimer, James D. Hill, Glen
Kochanowski, Bill Gerry, Recording Secretary Ann Haden. Vice President Earle Bess brought the
meeting to order.
Minutes of the February 9, 2012 meeting were approved as presented.
New Business.
Lucy Corley advised that Dina Giron will not be able to serve on the Law Enforcement
Advisory Board. Sheriff Kochanowski advised that he would check with Juan Torres again to
see if he will be available to attend an upcoming meeting. He advised that Mr. Torres is
interested in serving on this board.
Joel Wimer asked if board members would be interested in holding the June board meeting at
CW Ranch. He advised this would work best if it could be an evening meeting. The Ranch
would like to serve a meal to the board members. An informal vote showed all in favor.
Sheriff Kochanowski offered transportation. Joel will provide details to Ann and information will
be forwarded to the board.
Complaints.
Lt. Gerry advised there is one complaint pending which is being investigated by his office. He
will advise results at the next meeting.
Old Business.
Lucy Corley advised the Health Fair is scheduled for April 28-29 and they are expecting a
large number of attendees. This will be held at the Smoky Hill Learning Center on East
Crawford.
Inside Glimpse
Lt. Scott Siemsen, Commander of the Salina Police Department Criminal Investigation
Bureau, spoke with committee members about the purpose and accomplishments of the
bureau.
The next scheduled meeting is June 14, 2012 at the C&W Ranch, 4000 S. Halstead Road, Smolan,
Kansas at 6:00 p.m. There will be a business meeting beginning at 6:00 followed by a delicious
Grilled Beef Tenderloin dinner with several side dishes and a dessert.
Directions: Going south on 81 Highway or south on 135: Turn right (west) onto Water Well Rd. Go
approximately 3 miles and turn left (south) onto Halstead Road. At the Halstead/Water Well
intersection there is a sign that points south to the CW Ranch. Take Halstead south for approximately
¼ mile and turn right into the ranch drive.
Transportation: If you are riding with Sheriff Kochanowski, please meet in the parking lot on the east
side of the Sheriff’s Office before 5:30 p.m.
