Members Present: Earle Bess, Tony Blair, Dorothy Armster, Gary Cummings, Joel Wimer, James D.
Hill, Bill Gerry, Recording Secretary Ann Haden. President Tony Blair brought the meeting to order.
Minutes of the June 14, 2012 meeting were approved with correction of the date.
New Business.
Board members attended the second session of Fair and Impartial Policing required training
conducted by Ms. Kathryn Carter, Special Agent/Trainer from the Office of the Kansas
Attorney General prior to the start of the Advisory Committee meeting. Those attending were
Earle Bess, Tony Blair, Dorothy Armster, Gary Cummings, Joel Wimer, James D. Hill, Glen
Kochanowski, Bill Gerry, Ann Haden. The training session held 5/14/2012 was attended by
Earle Bess, Tony Blair, Lucila Corley, Dorothy Armster, Gary Cummings, Teresa Hernandez,
Bill Gerry, Glen Kochanowksi, Ann Haden.
Reminder. At the October meeting the committee will discuss open board positions and
election of officers. Voting will take place in December. The office of President and Vice
President will be open and three board member positions (Blair, Bess and Corley) will be open
for election or re-election. Tony Blair and Lucy Corley are both eligible to serve another term
as board members, if they desire. Earle Bess will resign his position on the board at the end
of this term so this position will be open at election time. Earle advised he will seek to provide
a prospective candidate for his vacant position on the board.
Complaints.
Lt. Gerry advised there were no racial profiling complaints to review.
Old Business.
A motion by Earle Bess to nominate Teresa Hernandez to the open board position was
seconded by Dorothy Armster. With no further nominations, the vote was unanimous.
