Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded, The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 10, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on Street Resurfacing Job 441 as follows: Brown & Brown Inc. Blacktop Construction Co. Hall Bros. Construction Co. Engineers Estimate $84,760.00 $90,980.00 $88,855.00 $84,470.00 On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bid was awarded to Brown & Brown Inc. Carried. Bids were received on the pickup truck for the Refuse Department. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the bid was awarded to Long -McArthur Inc. in the amount of $1,585.00. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prohibiting the solicitation or sale of any merchandise upon the public street, sidewalks, and alleys within the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was not adopted by the following vote: Nays: Spangler, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Ayes: (1) Bull. Mayor did not approve the ordinance. Ordinance introduced for first reading June 3, 1963. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6719. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading June 10, 1963. Thirty days notice up on the rezoning of the West 125 feet of Lots 10 and 12 & all Lot 14, 16 and 18 & the West 25 feet Lot 20, Block 2 Hansens Court Addition to Zone "D". No protests written or oral were filed. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the rezoning ordinancewas introduced for first reading. Carried. Ordinance Passed: Number �-- 7 A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water mains and hydrant improvements in certain districts and giving notice of -'such hearing." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2720. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a resolution was introduced for first reading for the paving of Seventh Street from Antrim to Otis. Carried. _ Resolution Passed: Z vSs Number e On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a resolution l was introduced for first reading for the paving of Seventh from Pacific to Harsh. Carriedl. Resolution Passed: Number��/� Petition number 2691 was filed for the rezoning of Lots 25, 26, 27, Block 6 Circle Addition to Zone "D". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Plan ning Commission. Carried. Petition number 2692 was filed for the rezoning of Lot 14, Block 7 Edgemere Addition to Zone "B". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Plumbers & Gas Fitters Bond was filed by Edward I. Englert, Sr. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bond was approved. Carried. Petition number 2693 was filed for the rezoning of Lots 2 to 10 Hazelwood Addition. to Zone "DD". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petitionwas referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition number 2694 was filed for the rezoning of Lot 25, Santa Fe Avenue Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition, to Zone "E". On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Letter was received from the Salina Community Inn of America Inc. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the letter was referred to the City Attorney for Resolution. Carried. Cereal Malt Beverage Application was filed by Everett Zaragoza d/b/a Dew Drop Inn 632 E. North. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the application was approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the vacation of streets & alleys & Etc., in Talley Addition. Carried. 75 Ordinance Number — h - Passed: .? A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing the issuance of temporary notes Series BL -300 in the amount of $34,398.45. Note; numbered 3 in the amount of $4,398.45/ Note number 4 in the amount of $15,000.00; Note Numbered 5 in the amount of $15,000.00." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2721. Carri, An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Bull, Spangler, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1176. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Bull, Spangler, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1177. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
