Lucila Corley brought the meeting to order.
Minutes of the April 11, 2013 meeting were approved as presented.
New Business.
Complaints.
Lt. Gerry advised there were no complaints to report.
Lucy related several incidents that were brought to her attention by citizens reference police
contact. Lucy will advise those who contact her to bring these issues to the attention of the
police department in a timely manner so that the contact can be reviewed. Following some
discussion it was suggested that Lt. Gerry include the verbal judo training for officers on the
upcoming training calendar.
Old Business.
Inside Glimpse.
Salina Police Department Investigator Matthew Halton spoke with committee members on the
Internet Crimes Against Children program. The ICAC program was developed in response to
the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child
pornography and heightened online activity by predators seeking unsupervised contact with
potential underage victims. This tool helps state and local law enforcement agencies develop
an effective response to cyber enticement and child pornography cases.
