June 10, 1963
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners JunelO, 1963. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull and
Rundquist and City Attorney Bengtson responded. CommissionersExline and Tucker absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 3, 1963 were read and approved.'

On motion of Commissioner Bull, second,by Commissioner Rundquist an/ordinance
was introduced for first reading includin • onnie Ridge in the City Limits. Carried.
Ordinance Passed: Number
The ordinance prohibiting solicitation on streets, etc. was not introduced for
second reading - it will be on the agenda for June 17, 1963.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the lease
with Kansas Landscape & Nursery Co, was approved. Carried.
• I A letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending No Parking
on Ohio from Greeley north to north city limits. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist
seconded by Commissioner Bull the recommendations were approved. Carried.
A letter was received from the City Planning Commission approving resolution
number 2689 for the rezoning of all of that part of 11-14-3 within the City Limits
of Salina to Zone "F", which is north of North Street west of US 81 and the Union
Pacific RR Branch line and east of Dry Creek cut-off channel.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter
was accepted and approved and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried.
City Engineer filed partial estimate number 1 on Job 437 - Sidewalks - 0. M.
Wilbur - in the amount of $1,158.54.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate
was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed final estimate on the Utility Building - Construction
Industries in the amount of $6,023.49.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate
was approved. Carried.
Petition number 2690 was filed for sidewalks in Block 5 Replat of Indian Rock
Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the contract
with the Ballou Construction Co. for the slurry seal on Santa Fe was approved. Carried.
• City Manager reported on Petition number 2687 - the petition was referred back
to the City Manager to contact the Board of Education and work out a dedication of
streets if possible.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for street improvements Job 435 as
called for in Ordinance 6716. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist the plans and speciifcations were accepted and approved and the City Clerk
was instructed to advertise for bids on June 24, 1963. Carried.

A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing and
providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of $204,550.73 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the
City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -64 pending the issuance of bonds to pay
the cost of said work."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull and
Rundquist (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 2717. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing and
providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of $49,216.42, to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the
City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -65 pending the issuance of bonds to pay
the cost of said work."
• On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution
! was approved as read and the following vote was had- Ayes: Spangler, Bull and

Rundquist (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the
j resolution and it is Numbered 2718. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution determining that the
structure located on the property commonly known as 253 North Oakdale, Salina, Kansas,
constitutes a nuisance and should be abated."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it
is Numbered 2719. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "A ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: (3)
Spangler, Bull and Rundquist Nays: (0) Commissioners Exline and Tucker absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and if is Numbered A-1175. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
