05-20-1963 Minutesr 1 1 :7 C CJ 1 1 • COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas May 20, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 20, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Tucker and Rundquist and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 13, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on the Police Cars. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bid was awarded to Marshall Motor Co. in the amount of $1,950.00. Carried. Bids were received on the Truck for the Water & Sewage Department. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bid was awarded to Sid Bacon Motor Co. in the amount of $5,065.72. Carried. Ordinance for second reading for Bonnie Ridge City Limits was held over for one week. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the paving of Greeley Avenue with concrete (Eighteen (18) feet wide from edge of pavement to edge of Pavement) from the west line of West Upper Mill Heights Drive to the east line of East Upper Mill Heights Drive." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Tucker and Rundquist (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2715. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading May 13, 1963. Twenty days protest period up for Meadowlark Acres - Resolution Number 2712. No protests written or oral were filed. Hearing was held on certain street improvements, water mains, sanitary sewers and sidewalks, Special assessments for Job 420. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the assessments were approved,.since there were no protests written or oral filed. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was introduced for first reading for special assessments for Faith Addition - Job 422. Carried. Ordinance Passed: tea 7' 7� 1 Number �q On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Tucker an ordinance was introduced for first reading for special assessments for Indian Rock Addition Job 423. Carried. / 7 Ordinance Passed:`T Number �. / / Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding street name changes. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the recommendations were approved. Carried. The City Engineer filed survey and description of land under Resolution Number 2714. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the survey was accepted and approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the condemnation of Ohio Street widening, etc. Carried. Ordinance Passed: Number b 71 lr On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was introduced for first reading for street improvements. Carried. Ordinance Passed: ..Z 7 (�(, Number Petition number 2688 was filed asking for an ordinance prohibiting sale of merchandise on streets. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the City Attorney was instructed to draw up a workable ordinance concerning the problem of vending from streets, sidewalks & alleys, and have it ready in two weeks. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A--1173. Carried.
