03-12-1963 Minutes• 1 • • 1 L 0 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas March 12, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 12, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler, and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 5, 1963 were read and approved. Bids were received on the Water Department trucks. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the bids were referred to the Director of Utilities - Ron Webster - to check and make a report at the next meeting. Carried. Bids were received on water pipe. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was awarded to Salina Supply Co. as low bidder — alternate proposal - 12,000 L.F. at $3.48 per foot FOB Salina. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the Key Acres Second Addition Plat was approved. Carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the resurfacing of Walnut Street with asphalt from the east line of Fith Street to the west line of Smoky Hill River Bridge." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler, and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2696. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading March 5, 1963. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the resurfacing of Fifth Street with asphalt from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Prescott Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler, and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2697. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading March 5, 1963. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the resurfacing of Eighth Street with asphalt from the south line of Elm Street to the north line of Prescott Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler, and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2698. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading March 5, 1963. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6693. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading March 5, 1963. Petition number 2671 was checked for improvements in Millview Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed the feasibility report for Meadowlark Acres Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the report was accepted and approved. Carried. City Engineer filed an estimate on the Utility Building - Construction Industries - in theamount of $3,447.00. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. Petition number 2672 was filed for the improvement of Ohio Street from the center line of Pacific Avenue south to the North right -of way of UPRR. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by CommissionerTucker the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried. Petition number 2673 was filed for the opening of Indiana Avenue from Iron to Spapler. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried. Petition number 2674 was filed for the rezoning of the E. 125' Lots 10, 12 and all Lots 14, 16, 18 and E. 25' Lot 20, Block 2, Hansen Court Addition. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Concrete Construction Bond was filed by Robert L. Albers d/b/a Albert Construction Co. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bond was approved. Carried. Mayor Exline appointed Mrs. James P. Mize and Mr. Neal Anderson to the Library Board as of April 30, 1963 for 4 year terms. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the appointments were approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker no parking be allowed on the north side of Crawford from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and no parking at anytime on the south side of Crawford.
