March 5, 1963
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 5, 1963. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler,
and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 26, 1963 were read and approved.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission approving petition number 2661
for the rezoning of Block 1 and N. 285' Lot 8, Block 2 Wallerius Addition to Zone D.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was accepted
and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission approving petition number 2668
for the approval of the plat for Meyer Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the letter was
accepted and the plat was approved subject to change of Street name. Carried.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission approving petition number 2665
for the approval of a plat for Key Acres Second Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was held
over for one week to change a street name. Carried.
Thirty days notice up for the rezoning of the East side of Ohio Street, extending from
the north side of North Street, north to the south side of Pacific Avenue described as
follows: 205 feet from the east line of Ohio Street thence north from the north line of
North Street to the south line of Prospect Avenue; thence 246 feet from east line of Ohio
Street and north from the south line of Prospect Avenue to the south line of Woodland
Avenue; thence 165 feet from the east line of Ohio Street and north from the south line
of Woodland Avenue to the south line of Pacific Avenue be rezoned from District "A" to
District "G" (Heavy Industiral). Rezoning from 200 feet of the east line of Ohio Street
and from the south line of North Street extending south 415 feet be rezoned from District
"A" to District "D" (Local Business).
No protests written or oral.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker a rezoning
ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried. /

A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing and ordering
a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water mains and hydrant improve-
ments in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is
numbered 2695. Carried,
City Engineer filed estimate number 11 on Sewage Plant - Wea Construction in the amount
of $12,535.91.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by CommissionerBull the estimate was approved.
Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 5 for Street Job 425 - Wilmoth Construction Company
in the amount of $9,524.53.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was
approved. Carried.

City Engineer filed estimate number 1 on Street Job 429 - Construction Industries in
the amount of $3,445.64,

On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the estimate was
approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate for the water tower - Chicago Bridge and Iron Co, in the
amount of $12,072.60,
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was
{approved, Carried.

Cereal Malt Beverage Application was received from JuneE. Hall d/b/a Zebra Room
146 S. 5th,
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the application
was approved. Carried.
Petition number 2671 was filed by Elmer Ogborn for paving, water mains and sewers
for Millview Addition,
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was
referred to the City Manager, Carried.
Electricians Bond was filed by Bob E. Padgett, On motion of Commissioner Tucker,
seconded by Commissioner Bull the bond was approved, Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker a resolution was
introduced for first reading for resurfacing of Walnut from Fifth Street to Smoky Hill
River Bridge, Carried,

introduced for first reading for the resurfacing of Fifth Street from Walnut Street to
Prescott Avenue, Carried.

approporiation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was
adopted bysections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-1160, Carried,

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,

numbered A-1161. Carried,
On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
