02-26-1963 Minutes• COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas February 26, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 26, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. 19 The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 20, 1963 were read and approved. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bids that were received on February 19�; 1963 for the mowers at the Cemetery were awarded to Heckendorn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Cedar Point, Kansas at $620/00 each or $1240.00 total. Carried. A resolution was introductd1land passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing and ordering certain street, sewer and water mains and hydrant improvements, ordering preparation of plans and specifications, and the estimate of costs." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was approved as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: • Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2693. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown, Inc., for the construction of certain improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." 1 1 1 0 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6692. Carried. Ordinance introduced for 1st reading Feb. 19, 1963. A letter was received fron the City Planning Commission regarding the rezoning of Lots 37, 39, Block 3 Riverside Park Addition to Zone "B". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried. Reasibility report was filed for Job 440, improvements on Neal Avenue in Bonnie Ridge Addition. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the report was accepted and approved. Carried. Petition number 2645 was filed in addition to petition number 2637 for the concrete paving of Dover Drive. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Engineer. Carried. Petition number 2666 was filed for the revision of sewer tax fees for Mobile Home Court Operatros. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was referred to Ron Webster, Supt. of Utilities. Carried. Petition number 2667 was filed for the rezoning of N. 50' S. 95' Lot 25, 27, Park Street, Wilson Addition to Zone "C". Tucker On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner/the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition number 2668 was filed for the approval of the plat of Meyer Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition number 2669 was filed for the approval of Belmont Number 2 Sub -division. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull, the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Resolution Number 2597 was referred to the City Engineer for Paving Alley for B. R. Becker property only. Petition number 2670 was filed for the vacations in Talley Addition, street, alleys, e On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was I referred to the City Attorney. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the audit contract with A. H. Leckband & Co. was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed the plans and specifications for Lateral Sanitary Sewer 482 as required by Ordinance Number 6689. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the plans and specifications were approved and accepted. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $137,650.20, to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -60 pending the issuance of bonds to pay the cost of said work." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was approved as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, — Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2694. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making approporation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1159. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
