02-05-1963 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETINg • COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas February 5, 1963 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 5, 1963. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 29 were read and approved. Charter ordinance number 1 was introduced for second reading: "A charter ordinance exempting the City of Salina, Kansas, from section 12-1008 of the 1961 supplement of the general statutes of Kansas, 1949, and providing substitute and additional provisions -of the same subject, providing for the salaries of the City Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, to be $1,200.00 per year and providing further that the City Commissioner designated as Mayor shall receive an additional $600.00 per year." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was hagin Ayes: Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. ayU approved the ordinance. Ordinance introduced for first reading Jan. 29, 1963. Carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to • the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Riverside Boulevard with concrete (Thirty- three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb from the west line of Columbia Avenue to the east side of Kansas Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2690. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading Jan. 29, 1963. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker a resolution was introduced for first reading for sidewalks on south side of Ralph from Roach to Norton. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the contract with Kansas Power & Light Co. for outdoor area lighting for sewage disposal plant was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 4 on Street Job 425 - Wilmoth Construction Co. in the amount of $13,468.27. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. • City Engineer filed estimate with Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. in the amount of $2,952.90. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate for Utilities Building - Construction Industries in the amount of $18,018.00. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate for Sewage Treatment Plant - Wea Construction in the amount of $26,959.28. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. Concrete Construction Bond was filed by Archie W. Peterson. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bond was approved. Carried. Salina Cable TV filed a map for additional lines.
