Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 29, 1963. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull,
Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded,
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 22 were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating a
greater salina development authority and setting forth its purposes and duties and
amending sections 14-101 and 14-102 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, and
repealing said original sections."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 6687. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading January 22, 1963.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance fixing the •
salaries of the officers of the City Court of the City of Salina, Kansas, amending
ordinance number 6599, the same being section 2-908 of the Code of the City of Salina,
Kansas, 1960, as amended, and repealing said original ordinance and section."
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Banker, Bull Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6688, Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading Jan. 22, 1963,
City Engineer filed feasability report on North Ohio Street improvements. On motion
of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull a resolution was introduced and
passed. Carried.
j A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing and
ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water mains and
hydrant improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing."
iOn motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
I approved as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is
numbered 2689. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull a resolution was
introduced for first reading for curbing, gutter and paving Riverside Blvd. f rom Columbia
to Kansas.
Resolution Passed: -4- � Number
s Wilson Engineers presented the revised plans on the Water Plant Improvements. On
motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker March 19, 1963 was date set •
for bids.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker Charter Ordinance
Number 1 was introduced for first reading entitled: A Charter Ordinance exempting the
City of Salina, Kansas from section 12-1008 of the 1961 supplement of the General Statutes
I of Kansas, 1949, and providing substitute and additional provisions of the same subject,
I' providing for the salaries of the City Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, to be
I $1,200,00 per year and providing further that the City Commissioner designated as Mayor
shall receive an additional $600,00 per year.
Petition number 2660 was filed for sewer in Block 12 Replat Lots 1 to 15 Garden Home
Addition,
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was
referred to the City Manager.. Carried.
Petition number 2661 was filed for the rezoning of Block 1 and No, 285' Lot 8, Block
2 Wallerius Addition,
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was
referred to the City Planning Commission, Carried,
Cereal Malt Beverage Application was filed by Larry Strahm d/b/a Pizza Hut 1204 S.
Santa Fe,
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the application
was approved, Carried. 0

A map was filed by Salina Cable TV Inc. for addition lines. On motion of
Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the map was referred to the
City Engineer for checking. Carried.
Drew Hartnett appeared regarding Petition number 2656 - vacation of second street.
The petition was referred to the City Attorney. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
