11-20-1962 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas November 20, 1962 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 20, 1962. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 13, 1962 were read & approved. Bids were received on installation of Water Pipe as follows: Brown & Broo.,n, Inc. $1,807.00 Helzer & Associates $3,319.05 Construction Industries $2,382.90 Engineers Estimate $2,678.00 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the contract was awarded to Brown & Brown, Inc. as low bidder. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution determining the advisability of certain street, sewer, water mains and hydrant improvements, estimating • the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the City at large." On motion of Commissioner Bull, Seconded by Commissioner Spangler the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler (4) Nays: Tucker (1) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2672. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2673. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing the release of certain easements in Key Acres Addition and directing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute proper conveyances thereof to the fee owners." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2674. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing the supplemental agreement by and between the Equitable Investment Co., & Lee 0. Haworth for the inclusion of Bonnie Ridge Addition into the City Limits." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, • Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2675. Carried. • 1 1 0 1 • 1 0 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull an ordinance was introduced for first reading for city limit ordinance on Meadowlark Acres -7& Bonnie Ridge. Ordinance Passed: �� 7` 6 �� NUmber / City Engineer filed final estimate on Job 414 - Brown & Brown - in the amount of $16,539.33. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. Petition number 2647 was filed for curb sidewalk on W. side Elmore from Prescott Road to Crpwford also 3 driveway entrances 28 feet wide each. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried. Petition number 2648 was filed for the denial of rezoning of Blocks 7, 22 & 23 in Belmont Addition. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. A map was filed by the Salina TV -Cable, Inc. On motion of Commissioner Spangler seconded by Commissioner Bull the map was approved. Carried. An ordinance was introdued and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Bull, Spangler, Banker and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1144. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1145. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution authorizing the issuance of temporary notes in the sum of $61,502.98 for Series FL300. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2676.
