11-06-1962 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas November 6, 1962 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 6, 1962. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, �, Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Banker absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 30, 1962 were read & approved. Bids were received on Job 433 - Lateral Sewer 472 as follows: Wilmoth Construction Co. $1,243.50 Brown & Brown $1,249.00 Engineers Estimate $1,644.50 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner/the contract was awarded to Wilmoth Construction Co. as low bidder. Carried. Bull Mayor appointed Robert Frederick, N. C. Grant & Warren Garret as appraisers. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the appointments were approved. Carried. • On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the contract ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried. Ordinance Passed: 2d1L���� f <{��� Number6 ICS Bids were received on Job 434 - Street Improvement Talley Addition - as follows: Michaelson Construction Co. $15,888.25 Wilmoth Construction Co. $16,954.05 Engineers Estimate $17,020.00 On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner/the contract was awarded to Michaelson Construction as low bidder. Carried. Bull An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: An ordinance providing for the licensing of pinball games, marble games, amusement devices and similar games and devices and providing an annual license fee therefor amending section 16-213 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, and repealing said original eection." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, �, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6667. Carried Ordinance first introduced October 30, 1962. Banker absent. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing certain sidewalks in the parking." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was • adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6668. Commissioner Banker absent. Carried. Ordinance first introduced October 30, 1962. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition 2643 filed by Jack Beverly to rezone the 200 feet north of the center line of Pacific Street and 200 feet west of the center line of North Ohio Street to Zone "D"_ On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition 2646 for the approval of Meadowlark Plat and the balance included in the City Limits. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the letter was approved. Carried. Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding peition 2635 filed by Lee Haworth for the annexation of the west 1,000 feet of Bonnie Ridge Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the letter was referred to the City Attorney. Carried. Petition number 2644 was checked for sidewalk on Talley Drive. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was approved. Carried. 0 CJ Application for a cereal malt beverage license was received from William S. Engborg d/b/a "Zebra Bar". On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the application was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estinate number 6 - Job 420 Streets - Brown & Brown in the amount of $28,320.98. On motion of CommissionerTucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 4 on Job 422 - Streets - Construction Industires in the amount of $12,656.63. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate i was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 1 on Job 425 - Streets - Wilmoth Construction in the amount of $10,569.44. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the estimate was approved. Carried. • City Engineer filed estimate number 2 on Job 426 - Water Pipes - Brown & Brown in the amount of $13,332.99. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 8 on Sanitary Trunk Lines - ABC Construction in the amount of $49,945.50. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 7 on the Sewage Plant - Wea Construction in the amount of $81,930.61. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 1 on Foundation Water Tank - Tucker Construction in the amount of $7,639.92. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making apporpriation on certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, • Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Banker absent. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Banker absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1143. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk Thirty day notice up for the rezoning of Block 6 and 7 of Talley Addition in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas from District "F" to District "A". No protests written or oral.
