10-02-1962 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas October 2, 1962 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 2, 1962. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 25, 1962 were read & approved. Bids were received for Street Improvements in Job 425 as follows: Wilmoth Construction Inc. $207,978.50 Brown & Brown, Inc. $208,003.50 D. W. H. Enterprises, Inc. $225,078.00 Engineers Estimate $209,270.00 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the contract was awarded to Wilmoth Construction, Inc. as low bidder. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the contract ordinance was introduced for first reading. • Ordinance passed: I La �� / 6 �► Y Number (c''�(pE� Mayor appointed Robert Frederick, N. C. Grant & Warren Garrett as appraisers.. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the appointments were approved. Carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the paving of 'the Alley First East of Santa Fe Avenue with concrete (ten (10) feet wide) from the south line of Mulberry Street to the north line of South Street. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2661. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading September 25, 1962. City Engineer filed estimate number 1 - Job 426 - Brown & Brown, in the amount of $20,186.32. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 3 - Job 422 - Constructions Industries, in the amount of $15,787.53. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 3 - Job 423 - Brown & Brown, in the amount of f • $25,717.82. f On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 5 - Job 420 - Brown & Brown, in the amount of $24,671.11. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 7 - Sanitary Trunk Lines - ABC Construction, in the amount of $83,235.60. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed estimate number 6 - Sewage Treatment Plant - Wea Constructors, in the amount of $147,765.24. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. I City Engineer filed estimate number 2 - Arcade - J. S. Frank Construction in the amount of $3,795.95. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was • approved. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes'. Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1138. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for certain claims."
