09-11-1962 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas September ll, 1962 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 11, 1962. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 4, 1962 were read & approved. Bids were received on the Utility Building and were tabulated by the Architect. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the bids were referred to Anderson -Johnson, Architects to check & report at the next meeting September 18, 1962. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof.' On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6655. Carried. Ordinance introduced September 4, 1962. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sidewalk, sewer and water mains and hydrant improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2650. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water mains and hydrant improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and fucker (5) Nays: Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2651. (33 USC 466 et seq.) On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2652. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, Seconded by Commissioner Tucker an ordinance was • introduced for first reading providing for certain street improvements. Ordinance passed: Number Petition number 2617 was checked for paving of Alley between Santa Fe & Fifth & Multrerry & South. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker the petition was authorized for resolution. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker a resolution was introduced for first reading for sidewalks in Fairview & Bachtold Addition. Resolution passed: 1--� Number T Lease between the City of Salina & the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the lease was approved. City Engineer filed estimate number 1 for Off -Street Parking Lot #3 - Arcade- in the amount of $5,933.05. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. The Mayor proclaimed the week of October 7 to October 13, 1962 as Fire Prevention Week. • A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution relating to sale of certain real & personal property." • On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2653. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker an audit contract with A. H. Leckband & Company was approved. Carried. Mayor brought up that a Trailer Gas Ordinance would be considered in the next week or so & that the feasibility report on Ohio Street would be taken up at the next meeting.
