Regulat'Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 31, 1962. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Bull, Spangler and
City A.ttor_nev Bengtson r_esnonded. Commissioners Banker and Tucker absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 24, 1962 read and approved.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating
to the curbing, guttering, paving of Poplar Street with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet
wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of Ohio Street to the west
line of Riverside Drive.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Bull, Spangler (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 2641. Carried. Resolution was introduced July 24, 1962.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and
thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Bull, Spangler (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 6646. Carried. Ordinance was introduced July 24, 1962.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating
and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas,
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 472, and providing for the
construction of a Lateral Sanitary Sewer in said Lateral Sanitpry Sewer District Number
472, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of
special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of
such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Exline,
Bull, Spangler (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and Tucker absent. Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered 6647. Carried. Ordinance was introduced July 24, 1962.
An agreement between the Kansas Power & Light Company and the City of Salina, Kansas
for the Kansas Power & Light Company to const uctimicrowave communication equipment on

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the agreement was
approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 4 for the ABC Construction Company for Sanitary
Trunk Lines in the amount of $62,917.20.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried.
Petition number 2630 was filed for the rezoning of Lot 2, Plat "B" (Knights of
Columbus) property from Zone "C" to Zone "DD".
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bitll the petition was
referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
Petition number 2631 was filed against the rezoning of the entire West 100' of Block
9 Riker Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was
referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler an ordinance was
introduced for first reading providing for the cutting of weeds.// V

Deed of land near dog pound to Highway Department for Highway purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler to approve. Carried
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler an ordinance was
introduced for first reading repealing Ordinance Number 6633.% /

The Mayor instructed the City Manager to change parking in the 200 Block of South
Santa Fe to a 30 degree angle.
Approved by all Commission that was present.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
