Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 3, 1962. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ex1ine, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Bull,
Spangler and T ucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Banker
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 26th, 1962 read and approved as read.
Bids on Water Main, Installation Job 426.
Moved by Spangler, seconded by Bull award to Brown & Brown, Inc., as low bidder
for $37,321.10. Carried.
Notice of Hearing on Proposed Assessments for the Off -Street Parking Project",
was taken up and discussed. After hearing from a number of people present. There
being no written or oral Formal Protests or changes in the proposed assessments as
filed, Commissioner Bull made motion that they be approved. Seconded by Commissioner
Spangler. Carried.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler, Assessment Ordinance for Off -Street
Parking introduced for first reading. f

Key Acres Hearing extended from June -26th, 1962.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler that Hearing be extended for two weeks
to July 17, 1962. Carried.
Thirty -days notice up on rezoning Block 1, and 2, except the East 1/2 of
Lot 3 and all of Lots 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Riker Addition from "B" to "A".
No protests.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull Zoning Ordinance introduced for first
reading.

Resolution for secondxeading entitled: "A Resolution determining necessity
of and directing that the owner or owners of certain lots construct, in compliance
with plans arra specifications of the City Engineer, a sidewalk, abutting said lots
within 30 days of the adoption and publication hereof and providing that in the
event the owner or owners fail to do so, that the City of Salim shall proceed to
construct or cause to be constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof
shall be assessed against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other
special assessments."
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull resolution adopted asxead by the follow-
ing vote; Ayes: Exl.ine, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner
Banker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2637.
Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
t e method for removal of Utility Wires along and across Public Streets when necessary
for the purpose of moving buildings on said street; providing for giving Notice to
the owners thereof; providing for payment of the cost of such removal, and repealing
the original section 26-104 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960."
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Banker absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6637. Ordinance introduced for
first reading: June 26th, 1962.

cation of a certain alley within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."

Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and
confirming a contract with Brow and Brown, Inc., for the construction of certain im-
provements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the Issu-
ance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull ordinance was read and adopted by sections
