Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 19, 1962. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Bull and
Spangler and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioners Banker and Tucker absent.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 12th, 1962 read and approved.
Bids received for one Police Car.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler refer to City Manager for checking. Carried.
Bids on improvements in Faith Addition (Job 1422)
Construction Industries, Inc., $58,145..00
Brown & Brown, Inc., $59,222.00
Engineers Estimate $59,1457.50
Motion by Spangler., seconded by Bull award to Construction Industries, Inc, as •
per bid submitted in the amount of $58,1.45.00. Carried.

The City Clerk reported that the assessment rolls for the following improvement
to -wit
The Off -Street Parking Project consisting of the construction of Seven Off -Street
Parking Lots, including the purchase of property, removal of buildings, filling
and level=ing of the sites, construction of curb, paving, drainage and arcades,
as authorized by Resolution Number 2292, passed by the Board of Commissioners on the
12th day of January 1960 has been determined and that final costs have been filed by the
City Engineer.
Commissioner Bulbmade motion that the City Clerk be directed to publish notice
in the official City paper at least once, not less than ten days prior to the date of
July 3rd, 1962, the date set for the hearing on said assessments, and that at the same
time notice is published, to mail to the owners of property made liable to pay the
assessments, at their last known postoffice address, a notice of the Hearing, and a
statement of the cost proposed to be assessed against the land so owned and assessed.

Resolution introduced and passed entitled': "A Resolution authorizing a contract
to purchase certain easements and rights for Off -Street Parking Facilities, particularly
for use as a pedestrian arcade or walkway as provided by Resolutions Nos. 2264, 2289
and 2292.»

Motion by Bull seconded by Spangler resolution adopted as read by the following
vote; Ayes: Exl.ine, Bull and Spangler (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and
T ucker absent. Mayor approved the Resolution and it is Numbered 2633•
Ordinance introduced for secondxeading entitled: "An ordinance providing for
the resurfacing of Ash Street with asphalt, Forty-seven (147) feet from face of curb
to face of curb, from the west line of Ohio Street to the east line of Fifth Street-,-
treet;resurfacing
resurfacingBishop Street with asphalt (a variable width of 37 feet to 79 feet) from
face of curb to face of curb, from the west line of Ninth Street to the north line
of Park Street; resurfacing Crawford Avenue with asphalt thirty-four 314) feet wide
from face of curb to face of curb, from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line
of Tenth Street; improving and reimproving Santa Fe Avenue with an asphalt median
strip which shall Vary from two to four feet in width, from a point One -Hundred Forty-
five (1145) feet North ofthe North line of South Street, to a point One -Hundred Forty -
Five (1145) feet south of the South line of Prescott Avenue, aid providing for the pay-
ment of the cost thereof."

the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613and the Zoning District Map therein and
thereby adopted and providing forme rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof."

Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler approve. Carried.
Contract with Twin Valley Nursery for Landscape Work on Salina Off -Street Park-
ing Lots.

Petition for approval of Replat of Part of Talley Addition, Salina, Kansas.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler refer to City Planning Commission. Carried.
Petition for approval of Plat of State Street Village, in Smoky Bill Township.,

Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler refer to City Planning Commission. Carried.
Petition for inclusion of part of Wallerius Addition into City Limits, and for
improvements.

Petition for paving 100 Block on North Connecticut Avenue.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler refer to City Manager. Carried.

the intersection of Crawford Street and Montrose Avenue.

Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler resolution adopted asxead by the following
vote; Ayes: Exline, Bull and Spangler (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and
Tucker absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2634.
Persons appeared regarding No -Parking on Crawford Avenue from Ohio Street to
U. S. 81, By -Pass.
Mayor Exline asked City Manager to have another Traffic Count made and report
in two weeks if possible. Carried.

for the payment of certain claims."
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll -vas called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ex -
