Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 5, 1962. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull,
Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 29th, 1962 were read and approved
as read.
Bids received Play 29th, 1962, opened and referred to City Manager and Engineers
for checking.
Bids on two- 3 -wheel Traffic Control Vehicles.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker award to Burgess Cycle Shop for $2234.50.
Carried.
Bids on two 3 -wheel Servi Cycle Machines.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker award to Harley Davidson for $3100.00.
Carried.
Bids on two trucks for Refuse Department.
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull award to Harmon & Gregg Company, Inc.,
for $12,001.12. Carried.
Bids on Elevated Water Storage Tank in Key Acres Addition.
Held over another week.
Ordinance second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment
of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted
and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the
uses thereof."
Motion by Sparg ler, seconded by Bull ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays. (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered 6632. Ordinance first reading: May 29th, 1962.
Letter from City Planning Commission with reference to rezoning to "DD" Office
District, North 72 feet of East 100 feet of Lot 9, Surveyor's Plat "A" for Bell Telephone
Employees Credit Union, Salina, Kansas.
Letter from City Planning Commission approving Petition Number 2595 for rezoning
of Lot 2, Block 6, Bonds Addition, Salina, Kansas to "DD" Office District, held over from
May 29th, 1962.
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull approve and City Clerk give Notice. Carried.
Letter from City Planning Commission approving Petition Number 2601, for Plat
of Wallerius Addition.
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker approve. Carried.
Application to construct a driveway 13.5 feet by 40 feet on Antrim Avenue between
Eighth Street and Ninth Street, filed by Wm.Reimold. Held over from May 29th, 1962.
Motion by Bull seconded by Spangler petition denied. Carried.
City Manager reported on the following petitions:
2598 For sewers, water mains, curbing, guttering and paving balance of Indian Rock
Addition. 100%
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Banker approve. Carried.
2599 Curb, Cutter and Pave Chicago from Walnut to Spruce (100%) and Spruce from
Chicago to Clark 50%.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler approve. Carried.
2604 Installation of 4 -way Stop Sign at Pershing and Kirwin, or a 2 -Way Stop Sign
at Kirwin.
No recommended by Traffic and Patrol Department of Salina, Kansas.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull petition denied. Carried.
2605 Merl and Kenneth Nordboe for permission to connect to and extend a municipal
water line and a municipal sewer line outside of the corporate limits of the
City of Salina, Kansas.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler follow recommendations of Utilities Direc
Ron Webster. Carried.
2606 Sidewalk on North side of Cloud from Pershing to Eleventh Street. 60%
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull approve, also force in. Carried.

condemning certain lands within the City of Salim., Kansas for the use of said City for
the opening, widening and extending of White Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas:, from
the west line of Broadway Boulevard to a point approximately 850 feet west thereof;
fixing the Benefit Distrmcttherefore, and providing for the payment of costs thereof.

Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids tobe received June 19th, 1962 at four o'clock
P. M. Carried.
Resolution introduced and passed authorizing Mayor to sign agreement with Missouri
Pacific Railroad Company for Wire Line License inSalina, Kansas.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker resolution adopted as read by the following
vote: Ayes: Exlim, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 2632.
