Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 22, 1962. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull.,
S)angler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 15th, 1962 read and approved as read.
Bids received for Off -Street Parking Project, Arcade for Lot 3, City of Salina,
Kansas as follows:
J. S. Frank Construction Company, Salina, Kansas $14,350.00
Johnson Builders, Inc., Salina, Kansas: $15,490.00
Woods Bros. Construction Company, Salina, Kansas $173950.00
Busboom and Rauh, Salina, Kansas $15,965.00

Engineer's Estimate $28,159.73
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler, award bid to J. S. Frank Construction •
Company in the anount of $111050.00. Carried.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler, Contract Ordinance for Off -Street Parking
Project, Arcade for Lot 3, Salina, Kansas, introduced for first reading.

Thirty -day Zoning Notice up on NRrth 72 feet of East 100 feet Lot 9, Surveyor's
Plat A, to "DD" Office District.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler hold over one week to May 29, 1962. Carried.
Petition filed for the denial of the above rezoning. File with Zoning Notice.
Thirty -day Zoning Notice up for rezoning in Shalimar Plaza Addition, Lots in
Block 7, and 10 from "A" to "C" and Lots in Block 10 from "A" to I'D". and Lots in Blocks
121, 9, 8 and 11 from "B" and "C" to "A".
No protests.

Letter from City Funning Commission recommending that Petition No. 2596 from
John C. Ryberg for rezoning North 79 feet of Lots 8 and 9, Block 2, in Sunrise Addition
(736 East Republic) from "A" to "B" be not granted.
Motion by Bull seconded by Spangler accept. Carried.
Letter from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition N . 2597 from
Ted Collister for rezoning the West 1/2 of L is q7 99 on Highland Avenue"in Grounds
of Kansas Wesleyan Addition from "B" to "DDA be granted.
Motion by Tucker seconded by Bull accept and City Clerk publish Notice. Carried. •
Letter from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition No. 2587 from
John G. Williamson for the rezoning of Blocks 1 and 2 of Riker Addition, Salina, Kansas,
from "B" to "A" be granted, except the East 1/2 of Lot3, and all of Lots 11,5,6,7,8
Block 2, Riker Addition.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler accept and City Clerk publish Notice. Carrie6.
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull resolution introduced for first reading for
curbing and guttering on the South side add paving Euclid Avenue from the west line
of Fifth Street to the east line of Ninth Street, the same being an intervening street.".

Resolution introduced and passed authorizing the Mayor of Salina, Kansas, to
sign Agreement with Missouri Pacific Railroad Company concerning pipe lines to be con-
structed across Missouri Pacific Railroad Righty -of -way beftatrh main line track at
Salina, Kansas to serve the City of Salina, Kansas, one pipe line to be used to convey
gas and two of the pipe lines to be used to cenvey sewage.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker resolution adopted as read and on its final
adoption the roll was called and the folloit ng vote was had; Ayes: Exl.ine, Banker,
Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) MWor approved the resolution and it is

In compliance with Resolution Number 2622, City Engineer filed Survey for
opening, widening and extending White Street from West Right-of-way line of Broadway
Boulevard to a point 850 feet west.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker accept. Carried.
Lease Agreement on Flood Property with Rolland McPhail.
Motion by T ucker seconded by Bull approve. Carried.
Application for two driveways 50 feet and 15 feet wide, 1528-1530 East Iron
Avenue.
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker be denied. Carried.
• Petition to install four-way stop at Pershing and Kirwin or two-way stop going
east and west on Kirwin.
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker refer to City Manager.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License to sell in original and unbroken
case lots, received from Chas. E. Parrott, d/b/a "Broadway Bait and Sporting Goods.;
526 South Broadway, Salina, Kansas.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker approve. Carried.
Wilson and Company,Engineers, filed the following estimates:
7 and Final Rhoades Construction Co. Inc., Mulberry Street Smoky Hill
River Crossing $72560.87
Motion by Tucker seconded by Bull approve. Carried.
6 and Final Rhoades Construction Co. Inc. Walnut Street Smoky Hill
River Crossing $16,037.21
Motion by Tucker seconded by Bull approve. Carried.
Petition for sidewalk south of the south curb on East Cloud Street from Quincy
to Norton.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker refer to City Manager.
Petition Number 2602, protesting the paving on Claflin Avenue from Ninth Street
to Eleventh Street, checked.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker deny petition. Go ahead with Resolution 2613.
Carried.
• Ordinance introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."

and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
