COMMISSIONERS' ROOM

MAY 8th, 1962
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 8th, 1962. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor F.xline, roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Bull, Spang-
ler, Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 1, 1962 read and approved as read.
Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution determining the ad-
visability of certain street, sewer, water mains and hydrant improvements, estimating
the cost thereof., defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method of
assessment, and the apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the
City at large."
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull resolution approved as read by the following
vote;; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull,--Spanglea and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor appro
the resolution and it is Numbered 2620.
City Mager reported on 1etition Number 2592 for the vacation of the South ten
• feet of Decatur Street from Eighth Street to Ninth Street, petitioned for by Salina
Pepsi Cola Company.
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Banker ordinance introduced for f' reling.
Ordinance Passed: `"�v-� -y Number:
Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution declaring for and the
intention of the Governing Body of the City of Salina, to improve and reimprove Santa
Fe Avenue, a main trafficway, and providing that the cost thereof shall be paid by the
City at large."
Motion by Bull, seconded by Spangler resiblution approved as read by the follow-
ing vote; Ayes: Exline, Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2621.
Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution finding that it is
necessary to open, widen and extend White Street from the West Right -of -line of Broad -
way Boulevard to aipoint approximately eight -hundred fifty feet west, and to appro-
priate private property therefore, and directing the City Engineer to file a survey
and description of the land so required."
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull, resolution adopted as read by the follow-
ing vote; Ayes: 2mli% Banker, Bull, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2622.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, submitted Estimate Number 1 in the amount of
$28,371.60 to Wea Constructors, Inc., for Sewage Treatment Project.
Motion by Tucker seconded by Bullapprove. Carried.
Petition for rezoning N rth 100 feet of West 100 feet of Block 9, Riker Addition

Motion by Spangler -seconded by Banker refer to City Planning Commission.

Petition for water mains and water stub -outs and concrete- pavement with roll-
back curb onChicago Street from Walnut to Spruce; and Spruce Street from Chicago to
Clark.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Bull refer to City Manager.
Map filed by Salina Cable TV shaving pole locations for approval.
Motion by Spangler seconded by Bull approve. Carried.

Special Meeting of the Board o- Commissioners May 8, 1962. Iyieeting was
called to order by Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker,
Bull, Bungler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
Special Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on Appraisers Reports for
the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 442, 1443 and 4" ( Job 416).

No protests.
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker reports adopted as read. Carried.
Motion by Banker Board of Commissioners adjourned.
