Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 24th, 1962. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Exlire, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Bull
and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioners Banker and Spangler
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 17th, 1962 and Zoning Board Meeting
of April 17th, 1962 read and approved as read.

Ordinance second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion
of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." •
Motion by Tucker seconded by Bull ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Bull, Exline and Tucker (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and Spangler absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6623. Introduced April 17, 1962.
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker resolution introduced for first reading for
curbing, guttering and paving Fourth Street on the west side of tracks from the south
line of Beloit to the north line off Minneapolis Avenue.

Motion by Tucker seconded by Bull resolution introduced for first reading for
curbing, guttering and paving Neal Avenue from West Right -of -Way of the Union Pacific
Railroad to apoint 200 feet east of the East Right -of -Way of said Railroad.

City Manager reported on Petition No. 2588 for curbing, guttering and paving
Euclid from Fifth to Ninth. 36 plus per cent.
Motion by Bull second by Tucker refer to petitioner for more signers. Carried.

Addition.
Motion by Bull seconded by Tucker refer to City Planning Commission. Carried.

Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution determining the advi
bility of certain street, sidewalks, sewer, water mains and hydrant improvements, esti-
mating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of 'he improvement district, method
of assessment and apportioning the cost between the improvement District and the City
at large."
Motion by Tucker, seconded by Bull resolution adopted as read by the following
vote; Ayes: Exline, Bull and Tucker (35) Nays: (0) Commissioners Banker and Sp
ler absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2607.
Appraisers reports filed for Lateral Sanitary Sewers 1442, 443 and 14144 ( Hazelwood,
Mayfair Addition and Surveyor's Plat 314).
Motion by Bull, seconded by Tucker set date for hearing May 8th, 1962 at four
o'clock P. M. Carried.

City -County Civil Defense Organization between the City of Salina, Kansas, and the County
of Saline, Kansas; establishing a Salina -Saline County Civil Defense Council, providing
for the manner of appointment thereof and defining the powers and duties of said Counc
creating the position of Director of Civil Defense and defining the duties thereof; crea
ing the division of service and the various sub -divisions thereunder; providing for the
Civil Defense Council Budget and expenditures; and repealing the provisions of Resoluti
No. 1201 and 2585."
