Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. City Commissioner Bull absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 13th, 1962 and Special Meeting of March 13th, 1962 were read and approved as read. Bids received for two Police Cars as follows: Marshall Motor Company $1340.00 Jim Sullivan Chevrolet Company $2460.00 Sid Bacon Motor Company $a 95.94 Long -McArthur, Inc., $1974.92 Motion by Tucker seconded by Spangler award bid to Marshall Motor Company. Carried. • Bids received on installation of Water Mains (Job 419). Catherman Construction Company $3604.50 McCollum Construction Company $3428.00 Wilmoth Construction Company .3126.00 Engineer's Estimate $3568.00 Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker award bid to Wilmoth Construction Company. Carried. Letter from City Planning Commission on Petition Number 2565 from Leonard Wood for rezoning of East 110 feet of Lots 42, 40, 38, Block 3, VanTrine's Addition to "D". Motion by Banker, seconded by Tucker table for one week. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the condemnation of certain necessary property or interests in property for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in making improvements for offstreet parking facilities particularly for use as a pedestrian arcade or walkway for said City of Salina, Kansas, as provided in Resolutions Nos. 2264, 2289 and 2292." Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to amendmts and changes in Zoning Ordinance Number 5549." Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution directing and order- ing a Public Hearing on the advisability of street, sidewalk, sewer and water mains and hydrant improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing." Carried. {fel f •A a�~' fl � Motion of Spangler, seconded by Tucker ordinance introduced for first reading con- demning certain land within the City of Salina, Kansas, for the use of said City in the relocation and improvement of Highland Avenue, a main trafficway within the City of Salina, Kansas, from a point approximately 225 feet south of its intersection with Prescott Avenue; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point where South Eighth Street intersects Prescott Avenue; and providing that the costs thereof shall be paid by the City at large in accordance with G. M. on 15 Watt, Two -Way Radios for Building Inspector's Office and Water De- partment trucks and cars. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appro- priation for the payment of certain claims." Motion of Spangler, seconded by Tucker ordinancevas read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; byes: Exline,Banker, Spangler and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner.
