Meeting was called to o:_ ­der by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker, Exlinq,Spangler and T ucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of January 30th, 1962 read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance fixing the salaries of officers of the City Court of the City of Salina, Kansas, amending Ordinance Number 6588, the same being Section 2-908 of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, and repealing said original ordinance and section." Motion by Spangler, seconded by Exline ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nayst (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6599. Ordinance introduced January 30, 1962. An ordinance was introduced for secondieading entitled: "An ordinance chang- ing the names of various streets located within the City of Salina, Kansas." Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and he following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays« (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6600. Ordinance introduced January 30th, 1962. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby'adopted and providing forthe rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker." (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6601. Ordinance introduced January 30th, 1962. James 0. Martin from Fox -Watson Theatre appeared and withdrew his application for T V Cable System. Salina Cable T V Inc., appeared and stated they had signed Pole Agreement with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Motion by Exline seconded by Spangler allow Franchise to remain in effect. Carried. Utilities Contract with Steele Inc., -and CL'S Inc. Petition for rezoning East 110 feet of Lots 42,40 and 38, Block 3, VanTrine's Addition of Salina, Kansas, having a frontage of 1572- feet on Front Street and a front- age of 110 feet on Crawford Avenue, fbr a filling station to be rezoned "D". Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker refer to City Planning Commission. Petition for rezoning to Office Building Zone the North 72 feet of the East 100 feet of Lot 9, Surveyor's Plat "A" to the City of Salina, Kansas. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker refer to City Planning Commission. Petition for curb sidewalk on Lots 12,13,14,15 and 16 onHancock Street, Block 4, Southern Heights Addition to the City of Salina,11ansas. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker refer to City Manager. Petition for rezoning Lot 11, Block 4, Schippel Addition to "D" Zone for a Service Station. Motion by Tucker, seconded by Exline refer to City Planning Commission. City Engineer filed Estimate Number 3 in the amount of $4439.55 to Wilmoth Construction Company for Job 415. Motion by Commissioner Exlinq,seconded by Tucker approve. Carried. Resolution introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution providing for the City of Salina granting, conveying, relinquishing and remising certain interests in land in exchange for the acquisition of certain interests in a part of said land." Motion by Exline, seconded by Tucker resolution adopted as read by the follow- ing vote: Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays:. (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2589. Plans and Specifications filed for construction of Fall out Shelter at Memorial Hall. Motion by Exling,seconded by Tucker approve and advertise for bids to be re- ceived up to and including February 27th, 1962 at four o'clock P. M. Carried. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker ordinance introduced or first read- ing designating and establishing certain parts of Crawford Avenue as a main Traffic - way connection. Ordinance passed: Number Petition presented asking the City Commission of Salina, Kansas to with -hold the granting of a franchise for cable distribution of television within the City of Salina until such time as a proper study can be made. Filed. Ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appro- priation for the payment of certain claims." Motion by Exline seconded by Tucker ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered A-1106. Ordinance introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropri- ation for the payment of certain claims." Meeting was called to order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Building Application from George Etherington for front yard and side yard waiver for the property located at 122 West Kirwin Avenue. Moved by Exline, seconded by Spangler, application denied. Carried. Building Application from Kansas Wesleyan University for side yard waiver for an addition to a women's dormitory on Kansas Wesleyan University Campus., to front on 129 West Claflin Avenue. Moved by Exline, seconded by Spangler approve for Hearing, February 20th, 1962 at four o'clock P. M. Carried. Adjourned by Commissioner Exline. City Clerk
