COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING

JANUARY 9, 1962
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 9th, 1962. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker,
Exline, Spangler and T ucker and City Attorney Bengtson rbspoiided.
T he minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of January 2nd, 1962 werezead and approved
as read.
Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to
Health, regulating the production, transportation, processing, handling, sampling, in-
spection, examinatiOn, grading, regrading, labeling, delivery and sale of milk and
milk products, the insertion of dairy herds; dairy farms, public dairies and milk plants
incorporating by reference Chapter 291 of the Session Laws of Kansas, 1961; Chapter -65,
Article 7, of the General statutes of Kansas., 1949, s amended by the General Stat-
utes Supplement of 1959, the unabridged form of the Ailk Ordinance and Code --1953
recommendations of the Public Health Service U. S. Department of Health, Education
and Welfare, being Public Health Service Publication No. 229, except such parts or
portions of said Statutes, Milk Ordinance and Code and Regulations as are specifically
changed, omitted or added to in this ordinance; restricting the grade and quality
of milk and milk products which may be moved into, sold or received for human con-
sumption within the City of Salina or its Police Jurisdiction; providing for Milk
Permits and Annual Regulatory Fees for such permits; providing penalties for violations
of said ordinance; and repealing Section 13-601 to 13-617, Inclusive, of the Code of
the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960.11

and on its final adoption the roll -was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Bull,
Banker, Exline, Soangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is Numbered 6594. (Ordinance first reading: January 2nd, 1962).
Ordinance second reading entitled: "An ordinance defining the Wards and Pre-
cincts of the City of Salina, Kansas, aid amending Sections 29-112, 29-114 and 29-120
to 29-134 inclusive, of the Code of the City of Salina, Kansas-, 9160, aid repealing said
original sections. "

Motion by Tucker, seconded by Banker refer to City Planning Commission. Carried.

Resolution introduced and read:" A Resolution granting easement for highway
purposes to State of Kansas."
Motion by Exline, seconded by Exline resolution adopted as read by the follow-
ing vote: Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2583.

• entitled: "An ordinance designating and establishing certain parts of Highland Aven-
ue and Eighth Street as a Main Trafficway."

Motion by Exline, seconded by Banker resolution adopted as read by the following
vote; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spradley and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approve
the resolution and it is Numbered 2584.
Mayor appointed Commissioner Spangler, City's Representative to Community Chest.
Ordinance introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinanc
and it is Numbered A-1103.
