Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Banker, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Barta responded. Commission- er Bull absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 12, 196; and Zoning Board Meeting of September 12, 1961 werezead and approved as read. Bids received for gasoline at Street Department storage tanks as follows: Continental Oil Company Holzhuter Petroleum Company. Motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Tucker award to Continental Oil Company. Carried. Hearing on Assessment Amounts on the East Half of Shalimar Plaza Addition, • (Job 400). No protests oral or written. Motion of Spangler, seconded by Tucker approve. Carried. City Manager reported on the following petitions: 2528 Paving Westchester Drive between 04i.o and Berkshire Drive in Indian Rock Addition. 100%. Motion of Spangler, seconded by Tucker approve for resolution. 2529 For water on Smither Street. Motion of Tucker, seconded by Spangler approve. An ordinance was introduced for second r eading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the construction of certain sidewalks, or the payment of the cost thereof, and how the same shallbe assessed and the manner of the payment therefor." Motion by Spangler, seconded by Tucker ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes; Exline, Benker,;,Spangler and Tucker. (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Bull absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6566. An ordinance was introduced for secondzead ng entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering, paving and gradin of CountryClub Road with concrete Thirty- three (33) feet wide from back of curb to ack of curb, from the west line of Overhill Road to the East line of Eastborough Road; curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Des Moines Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb from the south line of Lot 16, Block 4, of Riverside Park Addition to the north line of Lot 18, of said Addition; curbing, guttering, paving and grading of West side • of Fourth Street with concrete, Twenty (20) feet wide from edge of slab to back of curb, from the south line of Republic to the north line of Beloit; paving and grading of Missouri Avenuewith concrete., Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the north line of Stack Avenue to the north line of Greeley Avenue; and providing for the payment of the cost thereof, and how the same shall b e assessed and the manner of the payment of the cost thereof ." Michaelsen for the rezoning of Lots 40 and 42, less the west 20 feet thereof, and all of Lot 38; all in Block 3, VanTrine's Addition to City of Salina, Kansas from District "C" to District I'D" be denied. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Tucker accept and petition denied. Carried. • 2.
