Meeting was called to order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker, Exline and Spangler and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Tucker absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting and Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting of August lst, 1961 were read and approved as read. Notice of Hearing on proposed assessment was taken up for the improvements in Rolling Hills Addition. Curb, gutter, paving and grading, sidewalks and sewers to serve all lots and parcels of land included within boundaries of the Benefit District as defined in Reso- lution Number 23111. There being no protests or changes in the proposed assessment as filed, motion by Commissioner Exlire, seconded by Commissioner Spangler that they be approved. Car- ried. Hearing was held on 1962 Budget. Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler, approve Budget and Levy. Carried. Tax Levy Ordinance for the year 1962 introduced for first readi%ng.-� Ordinance passed: �J , 6� Number (k' '.i (G Letter from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 2505, filed by Mr. A. L. Swander for the rezoning of a part of Lot 13, Block 2, Tucker Park Addition to be used for the parking of onetrailer house be denied. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker hold over for one week. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of Lot 21, Republic Avenue, in the Addition to the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University from "A" to "B". I 2515 Concrete paving Lincoln Street from Cleveland to Chester; curb, gutter and con- crete paving that part of Chester. Street from Lincoln to York. 16% Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker,xefer to petitioner. Motion by Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker, ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol- lowing vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline and Spangler (4) Nays: (0) Com- missioner Tucker absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6562, Concrete Construction Bond from A. W.Soderberg Construction Company, Inc., of Wichita, Kansas. Motion by Exline, seconded by Banker, approve. Carried. Petition filed for he rezoning of the south 75 feet of Lots 2, 4 and 6, on Kirin n Avenue, inGrounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition from "A" to "C". (1416 High- land Avenue). Motion by Spangler, seconded by Exline refer to City Planning Commission. Carried. Notice of Sale of abandoned and unclaimed personal property at Police Station to be sold at public sale September 2nd, 1961. Motion by Exline,seconded by Spangler,City Clerk publish notice. Carried. Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler approve. Carried. Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler, that City sign agreement with Mrs. Jean Butler on Cafe at Airport. 2% of sales. Motion by Spangler, seconded by Exline, authorizing City Clerk to advertise for bids on new and used trailer to haul tractor equipment. Carried. Ordinance introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropria- tion for the payment of certain claims."
