JULY 18, 1961
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 18, 1961. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Bul.11 the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker,
Exline, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 11, 1961 and Zoning Board Meeting
of July 11, 1961 were read and approved as read.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for Street Improvement Job 410.
Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler approve and receive bids July 25, 1961.
Carried.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specification§ for Street Imrpovement Job 414.
Motion by Exline, seconded by Spangler approve and receive bids July 25, 1961.
Carried.
Letter received from City Planning Commission approving Replat of Block 20 and
21 of Belmont Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.
• Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker accept and approve. Carried.
Letter received from City Planning Commission approving Petition 2500 for Com-
munity Plan for Block 7, Rmlling Hills Addition.
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Banker accept and City Clerk publish Notice.
Carried.
A resolution was introduced for secondzeading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Country Club Road with con-
crete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide from bark of curb to back of curb, from the west
line of Overhill Road to East line of Eastborough Road."
Mention by Spangler, seconded by Exline, resolution adopted as read by the fol-
lowing vote: Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0)
Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2538.

Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance fixing the
rates of interest to be Berne by 63,600,000.00 principal amount of Combined Water
and Sewage System Revenue Bonds, Series of 1961, of the City of Salina, Kansas,
authorized by Ordinance No. 6546 of said City and authorizing the delivery of said
bonds to the purchasers."
Motion by GonmLissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker, ordinance
wasxead and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays:
(0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6548.

Code of the City of Salina, Kansas 1960, Chapter VIII, Article 407, Section (b) a)."

and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the
City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
Motion by Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Banker ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exli.ne, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays:
(0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6556.
Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "Ordinance Repealing The
Code of The City of Salina, Kansas, 1960, Chapter XVI Article 11."
Motion by Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker, ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0)

Petition for curb type sidewalk on east side of Roach from Russell to Cloud.

Engineer filed Estimate Number 4, in the amount of $31,980.23 to John Rohrer

City Manager submitted Budget for 1962.
Motion by Exline, seconded by Tucker accept and authorize to be published and
Hearing August 8th, 1961. Carried.
Letter received fromSaline County Commissioners regarding joint City -County
Building and for a study of a new site selection for such building. Filed.
Petition Number 2506 for sidewalk on South side of 400 Block on West
legal way to force in sidewalk at this time.
The City Clerk reported that the assessment rolls for the following improvement
to-wit:I)
Curb, gutter and paving of certain street, installation of sanitary sewers and
sidewalks in Rolling Addition as authorized by Resolution Number 231.1, passed
by the Board of Commissioners on February 16, 1960, has been determined, and that final
costs have been filed by the City Engineer.
Commissioner Exline made motion, seconded by Commissioner Tucker, that the City
Clerk be directed to publish notice in the official City paper at least once, not
less than ten days prior to the date of August 8, 1961, the date set for the hearing
on said assessments, and that at the same time notice is published, to mail to the
owners of property made liable to pay the assessments, at their last known postoffice
address,a notice of the hearing and a statement of the cost proposed to be assessed
against the land so owned and assessed. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an ap-
propriation for the payment of certain claim;."
On motion of Spangler, seconded by Banker, ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, ExlirE, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1078.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Exl.ine, seconded by Commissioner Tucker, ordinance
was read and adopted by sections; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker.
(5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1079.
