Regular I°eeting of the Board of Commissioners May 16th, 1961. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker,
Exline, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 9th, 1961 and Zoning Board Meeting
of May 9th, 1961 were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids werezeceived for
improvements in Otey Acres (Job 411), as follows:
Michaelsen Construction Company $449,807.75
0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company $452,275.35
Brown and Brown, Inc., $452,501.80
Engineer's Estimate $463,468.00
On motion of Commissioner Exlire, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, contract •
awarded to Michaelsen Construction Company as per bid submitted in the amount of
4,449,807.75 and checks returned to unsuccessful bidders. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, contract
ordinance for improvements in Key Acres (Job 411) introduced for first reading.

City Manager reported on Tractor Bids received May 9th, 1961.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler award
to TPS Ford Tractor Company for $4,568.44. Carried.
City Manager reported on Truck Bids received May 9th, 1961.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler award to
Sid Bacon Motor Company for Dodge Truck in the amount of $2,161.60. Carried.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating
to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Lewis Avenue with concrete, Thirty-
three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb from the North line of Millwood
Avenue to the South line of Crawford Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler resolution
was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2510.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing fort he rezoning of certain property within the City •
and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline, ordinance
was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays:
(0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6530.
City Manager reported on Petition Number 2488 for construction of a curb side-
walk on the East side of Beatrice Avenue between McAdams Road and Martin Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler approve
and amend ordinance. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler sidewalk
ordinance introduced for first reading.

On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline, ordinance
was introduced for first reading for the vacation of a certain street within the City
of Salina, Kansas. 7(��

Plumber and Gas Fitter Bond received from Frank J.Chamberlain, d/b/a Dodge City
Plumbing and Heating.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, second by Commissioner Tucker approve. Carried.
Petition for vacation of Manor Road from East line of Ohio Street, thence East
to the east City Limits of Salina, Kansas, subject to easement for sewer line now in
place, and for the vacation of all easements granted in Block 5, in Faith Addition, to
the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner ExIine, seconded by Commissioner Tucker referred to
City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Tucker a resolution
was introduced for first readingfor curbing, guttering and paving Wayne Avenue from
Ohio Street to Huntington Road.

Application to State Corporation Commission of Kansas, for approval of the City
Engineer's Amended Report and Amended Cost Estimate for flood protection improvements
in the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline approve.
Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appro-
priation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner ExUre ordinance
was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker (5) Nays:
(0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered A-1070.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appro-

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissiomrs, May lith, 1961. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker,
Exline, Spangler and Tucker and City Attorney Barta responded.
Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on Appraisers Reports for the
construction of Sanitary Sewers Numbered 426, 1427 and 1428.
No protests.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline Apprais-
ers Reports for the consttu.ction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 1426, 1427 and
1.428 ( Job 1409) approved as read. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Ex7.ine ordinance
was introduced for first reading levying special assessments for the cost of construct-
ing Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 1426, 127 and 428.
