Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 9, 1961. Meeting was called
to order b Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker, Exline,
Spangler and Tucker and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. City Attorney Barta
absent.
Minutes of Regular Meeting of May 2nd, 1961 read and approved as read.
Bids on tractors.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker referred
to City Manager to check and report. Carried.
Bids on truck.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline, referred
to City Manager to check and report. Carried.

City Manager reported on Gasoline Storage Tanks for Salina Municipal Airport.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, approve •
City Manager to purchase used tanks and install for approximately $1600.00. Carried.
City Manager reported on the following petitions:
No. 2477 Sanitary Sewer in Hazelwood Addition. 33-1/3%
On motion of Commissioner Exline,seconded by Commissioner Spangler approve
for Ordinance. Carried.
No. 2480 Paving Wayne Avenue from Ohio Street to Huntington Road. 100%.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler approve
for resolution. Carried.
No. 2479 Sanitary sewer to serve Block 1, Block 2, Lots 1,20,4,536,14115,16 Block 3;
Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6, Block 4; and Lots 1, 15,16, Block 5, Mayfair Addition to
City of Salina, Kansas. 100%
On motion of Commissioner Exline seconded by Commissioner Spangler approve
for ordinance. Carried.
No. 2481 Sidewalk to serve both sides of Wayne from Ohio to Huntington Road and
for Lots 14,15,16, Block 3, Mayfair Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.100%
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler approve
for resolution. Carried.
The following letters received from City Planning & Zoning Commission:
Recommending that Plat filed by Salus Inc., for Industrial Tracts 1, 2 and
3, in the Vest 1/2 of the SA. 1/4 of Section 6, be approved.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Banker approve. Carried.
Recommending that Petition Number 2483 filed by Wayne Northrup for the vacation •
of Michigan Street between Iron Avenue and Stapler Avenue be granted.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline approve for
ordinance. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relat-
ing to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of
ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary
Sewer Districts Numbered 414, 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425 and Pump-
ing Station, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess-
ments."
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, the ordi-
nance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exl.ine, Spangler and Tucker (5 )
Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6529.
On motion of Commissioner Banker, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, resolution
introduced for first reading for curbing, guttering and paving Lewis Avenue from Mill-
wood Avenue to Crawford Avenue.

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler ordinance
introduced for first reading for the rezonin to "D", Lots 1, 2, 3, Block 3, Phillips
East Salina Addition and to "B" Lots 6,8,10,11,12,13 and 14, Highland Avenue, Prescott's
Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas.

City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number
441.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Banker accept and
approve. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Banker, City Clerk
was instructed to advertise for bids to be received May 23, 1961 at four o'clock P. M.
for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 136, 437, 438, 440 and 441.
Motion carried.
Engineer filed Estimate Number 21 (Contract 101) in the amount of $21,368.21
to John Rohrer Contracting Company for Off -Street Parking.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler approved.
Motion Carried.
Agreement with General Communications Service Company of Wichita, Kansas for
Radio Equipment on Water Tower.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler approved.
Motion carried.
Petition for curb sidewalk on the East side of Beatrice Avenue between McAdams
Road and Martin Avenue.
• On motion of Commissioner Exline,seconded by Commissioner Spangler petition
referred to City Manager. Carried.
Petition to deny, refuse and reject the recommendation for City Truck Route on
Lincoln Avenue from Broadway east to Santa Fe Avenue and banning all parking on Lincoln.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Banker referred to
Police Department for further study. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed relating to Additional Estimate for Flood
Control IWrovements.

On motion of Commissioner Ex -line., seconded by Commissioner Tucker resolution
adopted as read by the following vote: byes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and
Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 250..
Resolution introduced and passed dedicating Channel Road for street.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker, resolution
adopted as read by the following vote; Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker
(5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2505.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals May 9th, 1961. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Bull, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Banker, Exline,
Spangler and Tucker and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. City Attorney
Barta absent.
Hearing was held on Appeal Notice filed by Salina Building Company for non-
compliance with insufficient Rear Yard Requirements for the North 62 feet of Lot 3,
Block 1, Holiday Addition , Salina, Kansas, known as 42.7 South Broadway Boulevard.
No Protests.
Resolution introduced and passed relating to authorization of non-compliance wi
the Rear Yard Requirements of Ordinance Number 55119 for the North 62 feet of Lot 3, in
Block 1, Holiday Addition in the City of Salina,Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Banker, resolution
adopted as read by the following vote: Ayes: Bull, Banker, Exline, Spangler and Tucker
