Regular Meet ing of the Board of Commissioners April 4th, 1961. Meeting was I
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull,
Ex1ing., Jaeger and Spangler and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of March 28th, 1961 and Zoning Board Meeting
of March 28th, 1961 were read and approved as read.
Bids received on Flood Control Bonds,Series FL 186, amount of :1,132,000.00,
twenty years.
Bids opened and checked by the City Clerk.;_
Commissioner Exli.ne made motion1to award bid to Stern Bros. and Company, they
being the lowest net interest cost to City and return certified checks of other
bidders. Carried.

Report from Salmans, Police Lepartment on Police Car Bids received March 21,
1961.
Commissioner Spangler moved to -yard bid to Warta Motor Company for $1895.00
Carried.
Bids receivedfor six months supply of gisol.ine fortanks at Street Department.
Commissioner Bull moved to accept bid of Continental Oil Company. Carried.
Ordinance introduced for second reading relating to condemnation of land for
Off -Street Parking Facilities.
Carried over one more week.
Hearing was held on Resolution Number 2479 for Key Acres Improvement.
No written or Oral Protests were filed.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution determining
the advisability of certain street, sewer, water mains a nd Hydrant improvements, estiA.
mating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method
of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the City
at large."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its •
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,Bull,
Ex1ire, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved thezesolution and it is

An ordinance was introduced for secondreaxling entitled: "An ordinance creating
and d efining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 438, and providing for the con- '
struction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number
438, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and f orthe levying
of such construction and forthe issuing of bonds th pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler the ordinance w as zead and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following voL.e was had; Ayes:

and it is Numbered 6518.
A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution determin-
ing necessity of and directing that the owner or owners of certain lots construct, in
compliance with plans and specifications of the City Engineer, a sidewalk, abutting
said lots within 30 days of the adoption and publication hereof and providing that in the
event the owner or owners fail to do so, that the City of Salina shall proceed to con-
struct or cause tote constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof shall
be assessed against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other special
assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Bull the resolution was adopted as read and on its final
adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exli.ne, •

concrete, Twenty-eight (28) feet wide from edge of gutter to edge of gutter, from 150
feet south of Wilson Street to a point 23 feet North of he Southline of Lot 15, Block 6,
Hutchinson's Addition."
Qn motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on

"A Resolution relating to the paving and grading of Oakdale Avenue with con-
crete, twenty-eight (23) feet wide, from edge of curb to edge of curb, from the East
end of Smoky Hill River Bridge, east 900 feet, more or less to West edge of existing
paving."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler the resolution was adopted as mad and on its
¢ final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull,
Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is

"A Resolution relating to curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Beechwood
Road with eight inch asphalt, Thirty --three (33) feet wide fromback of curb to back
! of curb,trom the North line of Northwood Road to the North line of Brookwood Road."

adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Ex -

fort he amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing forthe rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance -vias called and adopted by sections
