Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline., Jaeger and Spangler and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 14th, 1961 and Zoning Board Meeting of March 14th, 1961 were read and approved as read. Bids on Police Car. Held over one week to get report from Chief of Police on expense of cars traded in. Carried. Bids on Gasoline. Due to mistake in Published Notice, bids returned and new date to be set for April 4th, 1961. Carried. j Letter from City Planning and Zoning Commission requiring six months waiting • ( period. Filed. • 1 1 • Letter from City Planning and Zoning Commission recommending; that Petition Num- ber 2456 filed by Clarence J. Johnson and Lillie M. Johnson,: or the rezonin of the South 1/2 of Lot 14, Highland Avenue, Prescott's Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be granted. Commissioner Exline moved to accept and City Clerk advertise. Carried. Resolution introduced for second reading entitled:A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Eastborough Road with concrete, Thirty- three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb, from the south line of Country Club Road to the South line of Crestview Drive." On motion of Commissioner Spangler the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2480. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratify- ing and confirming a contract with John Fohrer Contracting Company for the construc- tion of Off -Street Parking Project 101, as designated and authorized by Resolution 2292, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Ekl.ine the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi - nance and it is Numbered 6509. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the condemnation of necessary property or interests in; property for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in making improvements for off-street parking facilities for said City of Salina, Kansas, as provided in Resolutions Nos. 2261, 2289 and 2292." On motion of Commissioner Bull ordinance held over for one week. Carried. Hearing on Petition Number 2416 filed by Ralph Mitchell and Mrs. Emma Baird for the establishment of a trailer court on Lot 8, Surveyor's Plat 31 in the City of Salina, Kansas No protests. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to authorization of use of certain lots as a Motel and Tourist Cabin Camp, within he City, under Section 13, Ordinance Number 55.9." On motion of Commissioner Exline resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoptionthe roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Extine, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2481. Hearing o Petition Number 2451 filed by R. L.Rockhold for the establishment of atrailer cout+t on Lot 7, Replat of Block 32, Military Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas." No protests. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to the authorization of use of certain lots as a Motel and Tourist Camp within the City, under Section 13, Ordinance Number 5519." On motion of Commissioner Exl.ine the resolution was adopted as xead and on its final adoption the rollwas called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2482. Hearing on Notice of Proposed Assessments for curb, g= utter and paving of certain streets, installation of Sanitary Sewers and Sidewalks, in Shalimar Plaza Addition were taken up. There being no protests, written or oral, Commissioner Bull made motion to approve the Assessments as filed.
