Regular Meetin of the Board of Commissioxws March 14, 1961. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull,
Exliz*,Jaeger and Spangler and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. City At-
torney Barta absent.

Commissioner Exline moved to award contract to John Rohrer Contracting
Company and return checks to unsuccessful bidders.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying assessments on lots,$ pieces and parcels of ground in the City of Salina,
Kansas, for the purpose of paying a portion of the cost of: curbing, guttering and
paving certain streets in ilbre Addition in the City of Sall% Kansas."
On motion of C mmissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had.;
Ayes: Ramset, Bull, Exli.ne, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays:: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6506.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance re-
lating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pierces
of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering,
paving and grading of Andrei Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (33) feet wide
from back of curb to back of curb, from the east line of Harold Avenue to the Twest
line of Page Avenue; curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Harold Avenue with
concrete, Thirt -three (33) feet wide from back of curb toback of curb, from the south
lineof T alley Drive to thee west line of Haskett Avenue; curbing, guttering, paving
and gradin of Haskett Aversue with concrete Thirty-three (33) feet wide from
back of curb to b ack of cru ,, from the north line of Talley Drive to t he south line •
of Ingermanson Heights Second Addition; curbing guttering, paving and grading of
Kenny Avenue with concrete, Thirty-three (335 feet wide from back of curb to back

On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; ayes:
Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered; 6507.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relat-
ing to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces
of ground in the City of Salina, nsas to pay the cost of constructing Main Sani-
tary Sewer "AL" and Pump Station., and Lateral. S nitary Sewer Districts 407, 408,
409, 410 and 411 and relating to and providing ?or the collection and payment of such
assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the rollms called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Spangler and Jaeger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved I •

An ordinance was introduced for first reading providing for -kptoial assessments
of certain sidewalks.

A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution directing
and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water mains
and hydrants improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing."

final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2479.
Commissioner Spangler moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading for
levying special assessments for curbing, guttering and paving certain streets provided
for in Street Improvement Job 403.

Larry Gutsch and :sir. Balaun appeared regarding four acres of land on Flood
Control, south of Dry Creek and east of 81 Highway.

Engineer filed Final Estimate to Brown and Brown, Inc., for River Cross-
ings on Oakdale Avenue and North Ohio Street.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, March 14, 1961. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissionrs Ramsey, Bull, Exline,
Jaeger and Spangler and Acting City Attorney Bengtson responded. City Attorney
Barta absent.
Hearing was held on the following Building Applications:
Waiver of front yard requirement for Mr. Ralph Swearingen, 654 Sylvan Place.
Denied by Commissioner Bu7.1. Carried.
Rear Yard Waiver for Mr. R. L. Rockhold for Lot 25, Block 1, Hazelwood Addition.
Commissioner Exline moved to approve for Hearing March 28th, 1961 at four
o'clock P. M. Carried.
