Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 17, 1961. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Coamissioners Ramsey, Bull,
Exline and Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner McCune deceased.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 10th, 1961 and Special Meeting
of January 10th, 1961 werezead and approved as read.
The following resolution was introduced and adopted: "A Resolution relating
to the death of Done" " C. McCune, City Commissioner of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0)
Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2450.
H. E. Peterson, City Clerk, took the chair and Commissioner Jaeger nominated
Gaylord E. Spangler for City Commissioner to fill vacancy caused by death of Don C. •
McCune.
Seconded by Commissioner Exline.
Gaylord E. Spangler's Bond filed and approved.
He took the oath of office from City Clerk and was declared elected as City
Commissioner for the term and until the City Election of April 4th, 1961.
Following letters received from City Planning Commission:
Approving Plat of Mayfair Addition.
Commissioner Exline moved to accept. Curried.
Recommending that Petition Number 2357 filed by F.S.Dumler for the rezoning
of Lot 15, except the North 28 feet thereof, and all of Lots 17 and 19, all in Block
6, Hutchinson's Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be granted.
Commissioner Spangler moved to accept and City Clerk publish Notice.
Letter and Copy of Objectives of the City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Exline moved to file.
Sewer Improvement Project was discussed.
Commissioner Exline moved to authorize City Attorney to prepare Resolution
on Sewer Project. Carried.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to authorize City Attorney to prepare Resolution •
on Water Extension Lines, etc. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for secondzeading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the condemnation of certain property for the purpose of providing necessary l
land and easements, permits and rights for the use of the City of Salina, Kansas, in
the developing, constructing, maintaining and operating of a flood control system for
said City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing Ordinance Number 6403."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was zead and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 6502.
Permit for driveway at 217 North Fifth Street, for Paul Boston.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
Carried.

Petition for the paving of Fourth Street from Lamar Street to Republic Avenue.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Manager.
Mayor appointed Elliott Belden to a three-year term on Airport evisory Board
from December 11th, 1960.
Appointment approved by Commissioner Exline.
The following Appropriation Ordinances were introduced and passed:
"An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of oertain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was passed and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Fx7ijw, Jaeger and Spangler (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered A-1051.

Commissioner Jaeger moved to approve for Hearing, January 244th, 1961 at four
o'clock P. M.
