COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING

Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 23, 1960. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissiohers Ramsey, Bull$
Exline, Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner McCune absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meetingof August 16th, 1960 wereread and approved
as read.
Letter from Wingrove Auto Supply, Inc., for twenty-four minute meters, checked
by City Manager and Traffic Department, and recommendation.
Approved by Commissioner ExUne.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance levying
assessments on lots, pieces and parcels of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, for the
purpose of paying a portion of the cost of: curbing, guttering and pavin with 6" rein-
forced concrete, 26 ft. wide, back to back, Willis Avenue from the east line of Haskett
to the west line of Hageman Avenue; Curbing, guttering and paving with 6" reinforced
concrete 26' wide, back to back, Maple Avenue f`ito thid east line of Haskett Avenue to
the west line of Hageman Avenue; Curbing, gutte ring and paving with 611 reinforced concre-
33' wide,back to back of Garden Avenue from the east line of Haskett Avenue to he west
line of Hageman Avenue; Curbing, guttering and paving with 611 reinforced concrete, 33'
wide, back to back of HagemanAR,enue from the south line of Slab on Broadway Boulevard
to the south line of Garden Avenue; Curbing, guttering and paving with 6" reinforced
concrete, 33' wide, back to back, of Haskett Avenue from the south 1 ire of Willis
Avenue tothe south line of Talley Drive; Curbing, guttering and pavan with 6" reinforced
concrete, 33' wide, back to back, of Talley Drive from the west line of Haskett Avenue
to the west line of Ingman Road."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance wasread and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6474.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6475•
An ordinance was introduced for first reading levying special assessments for
curbing, guttering and paving certain streets provided for in Job 395.
Ordinance passed: Number 0
Application to widen present driveway for Planters State Bank Drive -In.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to widen drive 12 feet by 51.1 feet.
Wilson Engineering Company, recommendation for Final Payment in the amount
of $5,000.00 to Combustion Engineering., Inc,- lime at the Water Treatment Plant, S
Kansas, for the calcining system.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
Petition for t he rezoning of Lot 35, Block 3, Riverside Park Addition, Salina,
Kansas, from Zone "A" to Zone "C".
Commissioner Bull moved to refer to City Planning Commission.
Petition denying any and all requests to rezone Lot 11, on Minneapolis Avenue,
in the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University from Zone "A_" to Zone "B".
Commissioner Exline moved to refer to City Planning Commission.
Commissioner Exline moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading condemn-
ing certain land within the City of Salina, Kansas for the public use of the City of
Salina., Kansas.
Ordinance passed: C7 Number
