Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 9th, 1960. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline and
Jaeger and Acting City Attorney Keeling responded. Commissioner McCune and City Attorney
Barta absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 2, 1960 and Zoning Board Meeting
of August 2, 1960 were read and approved as read.

Hearing was held for 1961 Budget.
Commissioner Exline moved to approve as published.
On motion of Commissioner Bull 1961 Tax Levy Ordinance was introduced for first

No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of the following property:
Rezoning Lot 25, except the East 200 feet thereof, in Plat "G" on Johnstown
Avenue, City of Salina, Kansas from Zone "A" to Zone "C".
Commissioner Exline moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading.

The following letters received from City Planning Commission:
Recommending that Petition Number 2359 filed by Moses Green for permission
to move his trailer onto Lot 8, Block 23, EMI Addition be approved (1205 North Santa Fe),
Commissioner Bull moved to accept and approve for Hearing August 16, 1960.
Recommending that Petition Number 2391 filed by Harry Banker for the inclusion
of the Replat of Moose Additioh i ithiprthel.City limits of Salina, Kansas be approved.
Commissioner Jaeger movea to accept and approve.
City Manager approved Petition No. 2396 for the installation of a street light
in east and west alley between Elm and Pine Streets. Light to be 210 feet west of
Phillips Street.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept recommendation.
Petition Number 2365, paving of Kansas from Elm Street to Riverside Drive.
Additional signers, making 50% for.
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
Bids on Police Car.
Long -McArthur bid not according to specifications.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to reject bid. Carried.
Resolution introduced and passed , Endorsing proposed Home Rule Amendment to the
Kansas Constitution.
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull,
Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 2402.

On motion of Commissioner Jaeger ordinance introduced for first reading levying
special assessments for the construction of sewers provided for in Job 3814.

On motion of Commissioner Exline ordinance was introduced for first reading
for the curbing, guttering and paving certain streets
provided for in Job 1404.

Petition presented for the construction of a sanitary sewer to serve area
south of Walnut Street and West of Broadway Boulevard, not now served by any sanitary
sewers.
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger referred to City Manager.
Application received from Shirley R. Manning asking for transfer of Cereal
Malt Beverage License ftmber 14562 from 201 South Santa Fe Avenue (Don's Lounge) to
136 North Santa Fe Avenue (Yankee Clipper).
On motion of Commissioner Bull transfer, approved.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals August 9th, 1960. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline
and Jaeger and Acting City Attorney Keelingresponded. Commissioner McCune and City
Attorney Barta absent.
Hearing was held on Notice of Appeal filed by F. M.Warburton Company for non-
compliance with Rear Yard Requi.rementsfor Lot 1, Block 8, Claremont Heights Addition,
Salina, Kansan.
No protests.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
the aut orization of non-compliance with the Rear Yard Requirements of Ordinance
Number 5549for Lot 1, Block 82 Claremont Heights Addition in the City of Salina, Saline
County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following trate was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull,
Fxline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 2403.
On motion of Commissioner Exline Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
